America's first and largest public studio for glassblowing, lampworking and kiln casting is open to novices and frequented by professionals..
In Short
A fancy gift shop, a year-round educational facility, a thriving studio and an exhibition hall, UrbanGlass plays many roles in its quest to promote the uses of glass in art, craft and design. The not-for-profit's cavernous 17,000-square-foot space houses 13 kilns and multiple working areas for small classes in neon, mosaics, stained glass and more. The center also publishes a quarterly magazine and hosts a bead project for economically disadvantaged women.
