Haircut From Hell. the day before my birthday, and a very a big conference, I decided to get a hair cut to get rid of split ends and add some shape. I had ribcage-length hair and i requested that the stylist (mari) maintain the length. I also stressed that my bangs remained long as well. But, she ended up cutting my hair shoulder length and my bangs above my eyebrows. I was horrified, and to top it all off - she blow-dried it into a frizzy mess. One of the worst haircuts I've ever received ended up costing $99.

non-traumatic hair cut. My two teen sons often wanted to put their head in a sack after haircuts that were too uncool. Now they are happy to go to Anastasia, who always listens and never does anything without checking it out with them first. Great experience for all of us!

Lailah Rocks!. I had a great experience at Medusa and highly recommend it. I was looking for a change but didn't know exactly what I wanted. Lailah had a great suggestion and I went with it. I walked out feeling GREAT and look forward to my next experience at Medusa.

So So but well decorated salon. So I decided to try getting my haircut in Brooklyn instead of trekking to Manhattan as I usually do.

I tried Medusa after seeing it on this site. The place itself asethetic wise is charming. All the girls that work there seem amicable and the social atmosphere is pleasing.I arrived 10 minutes late due to not being able to find the place, the stylist told me because of this she couldnt do layers in my hair because she had no time. She was friendly and chatty and listened to my requests, though she insisted on cutting my hair shorter than I wanted. The price was also higher than what I had seen listed on Yelp and other sites, the place I also only takes cash. I wound up spending $68 on the cut and left a $10 tip. As a grad student this was a large price for a so so cut. I doubt I will go back, but it wasn't an awful experience by any means.

great haircut. Not one to rave about my NYC consumer experiences, let alone my hair triumphs, however I found my experience at Medusa to be exceptional. Initially my service was a bit standard (i.e. get shuffled around, wait for some acknowledgement, feel privileged I should pay NY prices for something, etc etc) then I was introduced to my hairdresser. She was professional, courteous, and highly qualified. Turns out she worked in the fashion circuit for some time and has handled a few A-list clients... I believe it!! My hair has never been so current. I am impressed with Kelly's styling abilities. The client before me left with an exquisite honey blond that I will remember for my next color visit, and I have never been complimented this much on my hair. Generally not a girly-girl, but I'm kinda a convert. Kelly's professional, instinctual, and interpretive abilities landed me into "happy client" territory that I won't forget. and feel the urge to share. Go to Medusa!! Ask for Kelly!!

Maury = Best Hair Cut Ever. When I moved to Brooklyn, I had a hard time finding a hair stylist that I could commit to. I tried several, but was never truly pleased with the results; until I found Maury at Medusa. The first haircut she gave me was the best one I have ever had, and since then she has consistently given me exactly what I want. I have short hair and it can be challenging to find a stylist that knows the right way to do a short cut on a woman, but Maury always gets the shape and texture just right, and knows how to cut it so as it grows out, between cuts, it maintains both. Not only is she skilled and talented, but she is sweet, smart and funny. I look forward to haircut appointments, not only because I know I will look great when I leave, but also because I get to hang out with a cool girl for an hour.

Medusa Salon. Kym is professional, friendly, smart, knowledgeable and has an awesome sense of style.

She's has been cutting my hair for 12 years, ever since I moved to New York. Obviously, I like the way she cuts my hair, and in that time period, I've had a lot of different cuts! I think every one of them has been flattering, and I rely on her advice and great eye. I highly recommend her!

Medusa is a nice, low-key salon with very reasonable rates.

Medusa made great by Maury. I live in Astoria, so its a bit of a hike to get here but its absolutely worth it and I would never go anywhere else. My incredible stylist, Maury is truly talented. I never know what to do with my hair and trust me, my hair is not easy to cut. I've always had too much hair for most stylist to handle but she's so intuitive, she always knows exactly what to do with it. I basically walk in and tell her, "do whatever you want" and she creates different dazzling color schemes for my highlights and it always looks amazing. She takes her time and the best thing about her is that she actually cares about your hair and how you feel after she's done. Warm, friendly and smart, I always feel like I'm hanging out with my best friend while I'm getting a haircut. She's the greatest, hands down.

The salon is decorated with the most sly murals of 50's pin-up girls. Its way too cool for its area. Medusa's like the cooler, worldly, older sister of Park Slope. Oh, and its totally reasonable and a great value.

MY FAVORITE SALON!!. After visiting several salons in the park slope area recommended by friends and recieving one awful haircut after another, I decided to try Medusa's based simply on the AWESOME 50's pin up girl- red velvet couch decor. After lounging around for about 5 short minutes flipping through some vintage Marilyn Monroe picture magazines, I was introduced to my very FRIENDLY gorgeous rock-a-billy cool stylist named, glamorously, Jessica Rose. Jessica listened carefully to my hair sob story and carefully discussed what I wanted. When we felt that we both understood each other, I was escorted to the most comfortable hair washing chair ever. It was the first time I didn't have to contort into an odd position to have my hair washed. The woman who washed my hair had me in a state of goo- goo gaa-ing ecstasy with her professional massage level head rubbing. I was then delivered back into the capable hands of Jessica. I then was the happy recipient of the BEST HAIRCUT I'VE HAD. Several of my friends have taken one lookd at me and asked for Jessica's number so they could go get their haircut. I have been more than pleased to give them her info. THIS WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN A SALON!

Kelly for hair and people skills. All the girls are good, but I'd really recommend Kelly: she knows what she's doing with hair, but more importantly she knows how to handle the nerves and crazyness that happen to people when they get in front of a mirror about to have their hair cut off! I think she works weekends mainly. Always fun and interesting conversation.
