Best Day Spa, relaxing and affordable. The first time I went there was about a year ago... I fell in love!! I've been to many salons before and this is absolutely the best! I go to Galina for any wax. She's quick, professional, painfree and just amazing! They have private rooms and they're always so clean and calming. I get mani/ pedi's there also and I think I just about tried everybody. They all did a great job. I also get my hair cut and highlights there and I'm always very satified. They always know what to recommend. I go to both Andis and Nelly. Massages are to die for!! The swedish massage was very relaxing. It made me never want to leave. They also have a lot of other massages. The massage room has a fireplace, calming music, and it always smells so good! They have the most professional and friendly staff, great management, and a relaxing atmosphere. The best part of it all is that they're so inexpensive. I've bought many gift certificates there before for my friends. They have a great selection and you can customize your own gift certificate and the packaging is so nice.

Best Brazilian. I just moved to Brooklyn a few months ago and haven't been waxed since. I was in desperate need. I saw Natasha who gave me one of the best overall waxes I have ever had. SInce I hadn't been waxed in awhile I was expecting it to hurt like hell but it barley hurt at all. She was very gentle and thorough and talked to me the whole time to get my mind off the pain. I would strongly recommend her.

I agree with julia0215. I went for a massage and was told I should get a "deep tissue" massage. Not being a fool and pretty wise to how spas work, I said "no thank you, the swedish is fine." I've had many before at many other places but this was way too light and I felt just as tense leaving as I did walking in, only $70 poorer. With so much competition in the neighborhood, I'd think they'd try a little harder to keep repeat customers.

Amazing bikini wax!. The first time I went here, the bikini wax was so fast, I didn't have time to say "ow!". The second time I literally felt nothing. I highly recommend going regularly, because the next time I waited too long and it hurt, but was still fast and efficient.

I found the staff very welcoming and I've never waited more than a few minutes from when I stepped in the door. The atmosphere isn't very "spalike" so I probably wouldn't go here for massage and I only trust one woman to cut my hair, but as far as a regular bikini wax goes it's great. (They also used to be dirt-cheap at $15, but now they're $20. Still a good deal.)

do not go here. no matter what.. i just created this citysearch profile for the sole purpose of warning everyone. avoid this place. the staff is unfriendly to the point of hostility. the woman who was waxing me was gruff, unfriendly and didn't seem to care how good a job she was doing. she actually cut me with the scissors (i was bleeding!) and she didn't apologize, give me kleenex, make sure i was okay, or anything. i expressed my unhappiness and she actually said "SO?" i can't believe i paid for this. please please avoid this dump of a salon at all costs.

No Good Haircut. For any girl with short hair, you know, cut is everything, you can see every layer. I went in on a recomendation, after growing my hair just long enough to have exactly the cut I want. The stylist cut at least 2 inches more than I specificaly, several times specified I wanted. In fact, I provided SIX photos of the same woman! in differnent positions of the haircut I wanted. I seriously look like a 15th century monk slash page boy. The volume in the back was at center of my head, it looked like an experiment!!! I have had some bad ones, but this one! Lopsided, I have spent hours fixing it, luckily I have had short hair for years and am very experienced cutting my own hair. NO concept of proportion, no consideration of patrons specific considerations. It took almost 2 hours too! He burned me with the hair dryer repetedly, cut hair all over my face, I couldn't breath, and he smelled.

cigarette smell. Got a gift certificate and spent it on a massage and reflexology. The room was a tiny room in the back and didn't feel very special or exclusive. The massage was relaxing, although I've had better. The reflexology was like an average foot massage with a hot towel. This was my first time getting reflexology but I heard it was supposed to be quite unique and enjoyable. The guy massaging me kept leaving the room to take cigarette breaks then would return stinking like cigarettes. The guy was very nice but I didn't enjoy how he took breaks during the time that I was paying for.

A lavish assortment of salon treatments inside a serene Park Slope brownstone.. In Short
At first glance this salon looks like every other beauty shop in the Slope, stuffed with magazines, mirrors and beauty stations. But it's the buzz of estheticians busily performing treatments off a long-listed menu that differentiates Elan. Clients can choose from 10 different facials, including deep cleansing, anti-aging, skin regeneration and even razor burn alleviation for men. Services also include electrolysis, massages, hair care and texturing, manicures, pedicures and body waxing.

Not worth the money. Went in for a Swedish massage for $60. It ended up being a glorified back rub. I was told you apparently you have to pay an extra $20 for the Deep Tissue massage to actually get any muscles massaged. I have had hundred of Swedish massages and this by far was the worst! Even though it was on the cheap side it isn't worth the money.

Unimpressed. I received a gift certificate for Christmas and excitedly went for a facial and was quite disappointed. There was no massage of the neck, arms or feet while waiting for my mask to dry - instead I was left in a dark room with no music. I guess you get what you pay for - it is the cheapest facial in the slope.
