So Rude!
by snowflake at Citysearch
I'm glad to see that some people have had positive experiences at this place but when I went in there this afternoon, I was not impressed by the way my friend and I were treated. After getting some work done at another bike shop, my friend realized that his seat was too high so when we passed On the Move, I suggested he go in to see if they might be able to lower it for him. After politely asking for help, we were told that they do not loan out tools or lower seats without an hour labor cost. Fine. That's totally fair. It's their store and they can conduct their business any way they like. BUT, as we backed our bikes out of the store, one woman working there felt the need to say, "No, we DON'T loan out tools. Can you believe that? You know what else? My landlord makes me pay rent JUST for living in my apartment...etc." She went on and on.
Like I said, I don't blame the lady for not giving my friend free help but I do feel like it was completely unnecessary for her to continue her tirade after we were politely moving along. Long story short, I will not be going back to On the Move.
- Cons: Rude salespeople
Avoid this store at all costs!!!!

STAY AWAY FROM THESE DISHONEST PEOPLE!!!!
I took my bike in for minor repairs and was told they would give me a call back when the repairs were complete. The next time I heard from them was the following Saturday afternoon when I received a rude voicemail telling me to pick up my bike immediately in order to avoid "storage charges."
Sunday morning I went to pick up the bike. One of the employees rang up my check and asked me if I realized I was responsible for a $35 storage fee since the bike had been there a week. I explained that I had just received the call that my bike was ready the day before and she said she would get the manager. A minute later the manager stormed out of the back of the shop yelling to speak with the person who "owes the storage fee." Basically she tried to blame the entire situation on me by pointing to a sign indicating storage fees. She claimed that it was my responsibility "to just know" when my bike was done and their policy is not to call. When I obviously disagreed with her, she actually confiscated my bike stating that she would not give it to me unless I paid the fee.
This woman is one of the rudest most disrespectful human beings I have ever come across in my entire life. It is inconceivable that an individual with such a miserable attitude towards other people,. much less paying customers, is a business owner.
In the end I was coerced in to paying the storage fees in addition to other unauthorized repairs which they claimed they had to do.
I will NEVER go back to this place again. For those of you looking for a bike shop there are plenty of other options near by (Dixons and a new place on 9th and 6th Ave) that can not possibly be this bad .
- Cons: Extremely rude, dishonest, and overcharge
Small shop: personal care

Hey, if you are all in a rush, have some weird hang-ups about your credit card, or don't like people taking deposits so you don't ride away with their bikes, go somewhere else.
But: this shop really took care of me, gave me test rides and were very helpful. When I went in and it was busy, yes it was much harder to get attention. But I went to Dixon's and they barely moved to help me at all, had no real solutions for me and didn't seem to care about making a sale.
I'm always amazed by the high-maintenance people who give bad ratings due to their own hangups and oddities. You don't want to sign your credit card? C'mon. That's the store's problem? Get real.
