Home, sweet, dark, beery home..
I've been a customer, client, and even resident at this fine Irish bar at the corner of 3rd St. and Fifth Avenue. The Gate is a dark, comfortable joint with wooden pews, high stools and a good beer
selection. But what really makes it swing is the feeling of suds-soaked history in this dimly lit room, or the atmosphere of comfortable bonhomie on the roomy patio.
When I first moved back to this part of Brooklyn, the Gate was a long trip. Now, there are bars closer to my house, but I still go all the way to the Gate. What does that tell you?…
bartenders are jerks. gross atmosphere, bartenders too cool for school, lame crowd
VERY COOL BAR. Just moved to the slope and found this bar to be like one from back home. I loved the outside part, and the owners are sweetharts. Looking forward to going every weekend in the summer. Great people watching.…
