Great place to hear live acoustic music
by jeryman at Citysearch
A great place to hear American roots music. Blues, bluegrass, old-time, singer-songwriters, great guitar pickers. I've seen great local performers as well as well-known traveling musicians, including bluesman Corey Harris, Paul Geremia, Steve James, Grammy-nominated Tracy Schwarz and Ginny Hawker, excellent bluegrass with well-known bluegrass band James Reams and the Barnstormers. Free coffee and tea (no alcohol, but two blocks from places to go to after the show to get a drink or a bite to eat), excellent acoustics, consistently good music. Friendly staff. Schedule is on the web if you search Good Coffeehouse Music Parlor.
- Pros: Great acoustics, consistently excellent musicians, good value, beautiful place
- Cons: no alcohol, but places nearby to go to after the show is over (it ends by 10)
