“Great food, nice bar.”
“Great food, nice bar.”
“Even the 19.55 prix fixe menu was appetizing.”
“First, the space is great, bright and intimate - its so nice to have the whole place to yourself.”

“The prices are somewhat expensive, but on certain.”
“Guinnness, and in the bar sometimes the service is a bit slow and you're never quite sure if you have to order at the bar when sitting at a table.”

For a laid back time, go to the bar next door. Cheap beers and serves the same menu as the restaurant. Also their burger is served with frizzled onions.
Fly me to the moon...!. 12th Street is one of those great places you can go to eat in style (well, for Park Slope anyway) or grab a burger at their bar around the corner. The food is always reliable and delicious not to mention it looks like the chef cares about what departs through those swinging kitchen doors. Let's talk about the dessert first though - I went on a recent Father's Day and to my surprise was seated promptly even though the place was packed. (We happened to get the only free table at 2pm.) Ok, back to dessert - Peach and blueberry cobbler. Neither of these fruits am I crazy about but guess what - I am a turned woman. No dessert has ever tasted to real and so perfectly balanced. I actually felt I was doing something good for my health by eating that warm, granola laden bowl of tangy and sweet fruit! Prior to dessert I had a simple chicken and avocado triple decker with fries and wow - they know how to balance the salt and spice to make everything nice in that 7-grain (toasted thank you very much!) sandwich. Every other time I have been to this establishment I have had nothing but great service, and good food. Three thumbs up.
Great Place for a Party of 50 or so. Today I threw a bridal shower for my sister here and I couldn't have been happier with the way everything turned out. First, the space is great, bright and intimate - its so nice to have the whole place to yourself. The food was EXCELLENT. I have eaten here many times and am never disappointed, and today was no exception. The service was impeccable, no one waited for ANYTHING and the servers were attentive and friendly. The management was also accomodating when I requested a last minute menu change - they made it happen with a smile and never made me feel like I was putting them out. I would highly recommend the 12th street Grill for an event and of course for dinner. They have a wonderful prix fixe on Monday and Tuesday nights. Thank you 12th Street for helping to make the party such a success!
Great place. I was reading some of the latest reviews about this place. They are all good but one, and I totally disagree with that person. I am a steady customer there and I think the new owners are wonderful. The place looks great and the food has never been better. The whole staff and new changes are a breath of fresh air to this ever growing great neighborhood.
Dine in Brooklyn Experience. I went to a number of different places for dinner during the recent Dine in Brooklyn and 12th Street was my favorite. The special menu was by far the best that I tried. The Spicy Calamari appetizer was amazing and the VIetnamese Basa fillet was excellent. The Pastry Chef's Almond Torone was the most pleasant ending to a wonderful meal. The service was friendly and attentive which is rare considering how crowded it was. This treasure in Park Slope will not dissappoint !!!!
Delightful Changes........ Have been coming to 12th Street for many years and the recent changes are wonderful. The dining room and bar have had a trendy facelift which are warm and inviting. The food is very good and the new wine list is excellent. Whatever the cause, Bravo!!
12TH STREET BAR AND GRILL. WELL YOU MUST BE A FRIEND OF THE NEW OWNERS TO SAY YOU WERE GREETED WELL BECAUSE THAT IS THE OPPOSITE OF THE REPSONSE THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS SAYING AND YES THE CLASS OF GUESTS HAS CHANGED TO TACKY OWNERS WITH NO WITH NO TASTE AND IT SHOWS. PLEASE YOU MUST NOT KNOW THE FIRST THING ABOUT A GOOD RESTAURANT AND WHAT THIS PLACE USE TO BE. IT WAS A PLACE TO CALL HOME WITH GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE!
GLAD TO SEE A WONDERFUL CHANGE!!!. My husband and I decided to revisit this restaurant this weekend and was so pleased that things changed in every aspect. We've heard the place recently got new owners and a facelift. I't was GREAT. We were greeted at the door by one of the owners and felt comfortable the second we walked in. The service, new wine list and food (especially the fish! I'll give you an inside tip: one of the new owners has his own import fish company) was amazing. The side Bar was also renovated nicely. Even the class of people changed, I guess to the new trendy look. If your in Park Slope, try this one you will not be disappointed. A+++
Great food, nice bar... I've eaten in both the Restaurant and little bar in the back a few times. The food is always good. I love the grilled steak dinner as well as the burger (with bleu cheese and bacon of course). On the apps I recommend the flat bread with goat cheese. I'm not a big "fry guy" except for when they're done right and here is one place that does them right... along with their potato chips. My only complaint is in the front I don't believe you can get a draft beer... Guinnness, and in the bar sometimes the service is a bit slow and you're never quite sure if you have to order at the bar when sitting at a table. However that's not going to stop me from repeatly going back.
Excellent experience........ I haven't been here in a while and decided to try it again as I heard that there were new owners and the place was redone. We had a wonderful dining experience, great food, excellent wine, and good service. Everyone was very friendly and inviting, and it was very relaxing. Chef Vicino's food is excellent and we will be coming again and again.
Terrible Service. My husband and I used to like this restaraunt very much. The ambiance and the menu are quite nice. A few months ago, we went in for brunch and were not approached for about 20 minutes, and decided to leave and never to return. Against better judgement, we tried once more today. Although the food is "okay", the service is pretty much nonexistent. We walked in and one of the servers was on the phone at the front, not even taking a moment to acknowledge us standing there. We were then seated by someone else, yet not approached at the table for at least 10 minutes. We had to ask for coffee, my order was placed incorrectly, and we were not approached once during our meal. We were disappointed once again, and will not return. Seems to be no standards for customer service at 12th Street Bar & Grill. What a shame.
