“(Very cozy spot.)”
“Prior to dessert I had a simple chicken and avocado triple decker with fries and wow - they know how to balance the salt and spice to make everything nice in that 7-grain (toasted thank you very much!)”
“Just because the bar is so-so is no reason to get down on a very good restaurant.”
“The tuna steak sandwich is also very good.”
“Even the 19.55 prix fixe menu was appetizing.”
“very good place for a quiet dinner with someone you like.”
“Every other time I have been to this establishment I have had nothing but great service, and good food.”
“Park Slope dining has never been better and the prices are very reasonable.”
“Guinnness, and in the bar sometimes the service is a bit slow and you're never quite sure if you have to order at the bar when sitting at a table.”

For a laid back time, go to the bar next door. Cheap beers and serves the same menu as the restaurant. Also their burger is served with frizzled onions.
My buddies and I stumbled across this Brooklyn bar the other night when we were out and about just looking for an easy dinner. This really fit the bill-super relaxed vibe-just our style. We all had burgers, which were very very tasty, juicy with all the fixins-yeah, very tasty! All in all we had a great time and we will definitely be coming back!
Excellent Party Locale. My partner and I used the 12th Street Bar and Grill as a reception location for our wedding and found the owner and staff to be reliable, fair and supportive. He worked with our budget and special requests and kept everything simple and straightforward. Although we did not have an open bar and needed to keep our costs down, he was understanding and treated us respectfully. The atmosphere in the restaurant was classy, elegant and cozy, seating 50 people. Our guests later showered us with compliments on the food, the restaurant and the party. Highly recommended for small parties!
Editorial Review. Homemade gnocchi and brick-fried chicken take this Park Slope spot beyond the usual bar grub.
Great Surprise!!.
Discovered this restaurant this week and was quite surprised. What a gem. The food was just amazing, try the curry mussels and duck spring roll. The buccatini pasta was excellent with sundried tomato, roasted cauliflower and black olives. Very friendly and attentive wait staff that made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. The decor was very warm with some very kool music that wasn't to loud.
Will be back again and again.
Jewel in Slope. I moved into the Slope this past summer and fell upon this place one night and have been coming ever since. This restaurant has excellent food, the curry mussels and crab cake are sooooooo good. In my opinion they have the best burger in New York and is always cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly and even when the place is crowded, which is often, ( I suggest reservations on the weekend) the service is good. Great atmosphere and good wine!!! A very relaxing place with class.
A New Favorite That's Outstanding.
After reading citysearch reviews on this restaurant I decided to try it and have to say this place is outstanding.
From the moment you walk in the main dining room, the host and waitstaff are very attentive and friendly making you feel welcome and comfortable. The decor has a warm and relaxing feel, topped off with very cool music. Our meal was excellent, try the curry mussels, to die for and the Hanger Steak. They have a great selection of wine at very reasonable prices. They have their own pastry chef and the desserts were great. After dinner we went into their seperate bar area and were delighted to hear that they serve the same menu in a very casual and hip atmosphere.
Difinitely a new favorite for us, and I can't wait to try their brunch.
Worst experience in NYC!!!. We just had bar none, the worst dining experience we have had in NYC. Terrible food - only outdone by the breathtakingly bad service. The fish was old, other parts of the meal were undercooked, and the service was amazingly bad. We will not return. Ever.
Dazzeling evening!!. Showed up without a resorvation on New Years Eve. Was lucky enough to get the last open table in the corner. (Very cozy spot.) Greeted plesently and enjoyed excellent service throughout the night. (Suprising considering the place was jammed.) The food was great- i would reccomend the mussel appertizer I had. After we had our fabulous dinner we unexpectedly stumbled into their cozy neighborhood bar next door which had a fantastic D.J.... great atmosphere, great vibe. HIGHLY RECOMENDED !!
Best in the Slope. That last review sounded more like SOMEONE with an ax to grind, (maybe disgruntled employee) or you went to a different 12th Street. I have been to 12th Street on many occassions, and the new owners have done an amazing job in turning this restaurant around. The food is excellent and the service is the best that it has ever been. The old attitudes are gone and in its place are some warm friendly faces. Park Slope dining has never been better and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere of the dining room, quality food, and extensive wine list make this old favorite the new spot to be. Thank you 12th Street.
Worst service. BEFORE the new owners my husband and enjoyed 12th Street's food (even though last year I got sick from eating their mussels), service and decor. HOWEVER, a couple weeks ago we returned and were SHOCKED BY THE TERRIBLE SERVICE. The waiter never checked on us once and was incredibly rude in general. With new ownership the general look and feel has changed from a quaint yet sophisticated neighborhood establishment to one with no design taste and character. Also the clientele has changed - seemed bridge and tunnel and NOT PARK SLOPE!?! So sad to have lost a neighborhood spot.
