“hey i go to the ale house like 3 times every year because i live upstate but the food was so great the chicken skewers is the best i ever had it takes a little long but its so worth the wait.”
Great Neighborhood Place. This is a great place to get a burger and beer with friends. The food is good and fairly cheap, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The fried pickle, however, is totally gross.
good local place. i had the brunch special and it was a good value. coffee, a drink, and food for 10 bucks. very friendy service. lots of locals there.
great place, but the food.... We've been here several times and like the atmosphere and drinks (great beer selection). however, the food was always so-so at best. the tuna melt tastes bland, and the cesar's salad tasted like fish -- the dressing was definitely off. after we told them they didn't accomodate us. would stick with the beers and basic bar food. wait staff was friendly but not super-attentive.
Good Pub Grub. Park Slope Ale House is one of the places we go when we're stumped at where else to go (Actually, it's typically a toss-up between this and Bonnie's). PSAH has a smorgasborg of choices and always has something for every person. I personally love the chicken burrito and quesedillas. They have a GREAT brunch deal on Sundays (As of this writing, $10 gets you a meal, a coffee/tea and either a bloody mary or a mimosa) and are rarely crowded! The only major complaint that I have is that the menu can be hit-and-miss if you're totally new to it. I'd recommend starting with what you know and then branching out from there.
Amazing Alehouse!. Wonderful atmosphere, great music and friendly servers. The drinks are great and this is the best Mac-n-Cheese I've ever had! Nice moody lounge downstairs and there's outside seating!! A nice Sixth Ave location makes it really convenient.
Great place, BUT.... Every time we've eaten at the Ale House, it's been a good experience. There's a fantastic beer selection, the bar food is good, and the female bartender is warm and attentive. The last time we went, however, was on the afternoon of the Belmont, obviously a major NYC sporting event. Upwards of 20 people in the bar area were sticking around to watch that race alone, but the manager refused to turn on sound in the main dining/bar area. I suppose she's going for some kind of Jazz Age atmosphere in there, but to ignore the vocal request of the majority of your patrons is rude and unwelcoming!
The atmosphere is great and the service is very welcoming. I love the food as well. They have great beer on tap that is always cold.... plus the bartender was hot when I was there last.
What more do you want..... hot bartender, cold beer, great food and cool..relaxing atmosphere.
Even the kids feel right at home at this neighborhood bar and grill..
Huddled between the brownstones on Park Slope's leafiest main thoroughfare, this old-school pub makes the most of its traditional space. Candles and lanterns softly illuminate high-backed booths, a brick-exposed wall and the forest-green tin ceiling. The low-key vibe, the kids' menu and the dual TV set-up, with sports in one corner and cartoons in the other, attract the young families that populate the nearby streets.
There's got 20 beers on tap, including more uncommon selections like the organic Otter Creek Porter and the creamy Belhaven Scottish Ale. The brew connoisseurs that run the place aren't snobs, though--you can get Bud or Corona by the bottle, too. Juicy burgers and an assortment of noteworthy bar snacks round out the menu. The homemade corn chips never get soggy under nacho cheese, the baked brie with apples and a baguette delivers an upscale bite and the fried pickles would make Elvis Presley proud.
