A neighborhood pub.
Great variety of beers on tap with changing specials.
Good quality food; don't come to Wednesday steak night so I can always get mine. The chicken pot pie, pulled pork and vegetarian enchiladas are extraordinary.
The staff is attentive and cool
I love their beer.
I love to bring my friends here. The beer and food is always good. I really like them when the outside cafe is open.
The service has always been good.
What can you say about a tavern? I am glad their in my hood!
Awful Barmaid. Great Atmosphere, best chicken pot pie and a huge selection of beers. The one star is for the Barmaid, who bitches that the booths are for 3 or more people, but as soon as someone she knows walks in with one other person, she doesn't seem to have a problem seating them in a booth. This has happened on more than one occassion. Won't be going back there anytime soon. When you run an establishment, part of your job is to make your customers feel welcome and treat everyone equally. This Barmaid needs a lesson in that department.
Best place for a Pub Crawl. I would like to invite everyone to join me August 29th in celebration of the end of this quasi-summer with a night of drinking, dancing, and all out entertainment in Park Slope. Details will be posted at mypubber . com
best in park slope. hey i go to the ale house like 3 times every year because i live upstate but the food was so great the chicken skewers is the best i ever had it takes a little long but its so worth the wait. the service was fantastic and a busboy i think his name is Cesar was awesome and made sure we were taken care of the burgers are the best in town and the wings is a must have
Awful service, mediocre food. I've given this bar a chance to make up for my previous bad experiences, but time and again the waitstaff keeps disappointing. I'll never go back after my last and worst experience where we were kicked off a table by a group who came after us. Trust me, this place is not worth the horrible service and there are far too many better bars in the area.
Solid, Classic Pub Fare and Atmosphere. Park Slope Ale House is a great bet if you want a big juicy burger and frothy pints of beer. Atmosphere is nice, and seating outside in the summer is great.
Great local spot with great food!. This place has great food at great prices. The location is very low key and casual. There is a great selection of draft and bottled beers.
Average.
Food isn't bad and reasonably priced. They have a decent beer selection, however I'm not sure how they can charge $5 for a Bud Light in Brooklyn. The decor is homely and friendly however seating is a bit tight when crowded. There are 2 tv's on each side of the bar, however one is usually showing soccer.
If you're coming from outside Park Slope, note that the closest train is about a 10 minute walk away.
I want to like this place. I love the vibe and the great beer selection. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is everything I want in a neighborhood pub. The problem is the food. It is not good. Even the hamburger is below average, and I always thought a burger was a safe choice and pretty hard to mess up. The chicken fingers are edible, but overdone and with those chewy tendon things in them -- ick. In spite of this, I still want to like this place. I just wish the food was better. Maybe if they pared down the extensive menu and focused on a few pub favorites they'd do a better job in the kitchen. After all, what is a pub without decent grub?
