A complete scam. Only reason place exists must be to launder money.

Okay, this place might have a "historic" atmosphere, but the only way you could reasonably explain why this place has lasted a 100 years is that the owner is probably laundering money. It's certainly not that the place wants to serve customers. Every table we saw in there (beside the two imposing thugs friendly with the staff) had a look of disgust on their face when they realized they were being ripped off, paying $$ for heated canned tomato sauce. Everything tasted like it was opened from cans and warmed without seasoning. The "Italian" wine (ignore the menu list, they will say they only have red or white), is technically from Italy, but it's still gas station wine. My friend and I paid $84 for what was hands down the worst meal we have had in NYC. We have never felt more ripped off from a dining experience in our lives. Sleep with the fishes you Paulies.

• Pros: None whatsoever.
• Cons: Terrible food. Awful wine. Overpriced.

The Best, Fuggaboutit!!!

Not only was I amazed by the quality of the food and the old world charm, the price was surprisingly fair.

You have to do this at least once to say you have been to NYC.

PS-Don't miss the cheese cake. Unlike any cheese cake I have ever had. Maybe better than Juniors.

PPS-Hopefully you will run into some of the locals. A guy walked in who looked like Mozart. From the conversation with his son, learned that he was in fact a composer.

Amazing Old-school Italian

How can you beat an environment that throws you back to the glory years of New York Italian cooking while giving a glimpse into the Pop America of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. The seafood appetizers are particularly amazing. The cold meats couldn't be fresher. It's a steal even for Brooklyn. In fact, you'll feel a million bucks richer when you leave.
