Jerks.
The only thing I like about this record store is that they sell new releases before they're supposed to be released, like a good week early. Problem is, the people who work at this store are notoriously gruff. I proudly boycott this place as a result. May iTunes ruin them.

Just the basics at this no-frills music shop..
The Scene
A small and simple record store located on one of Park Slope's most bustling arteries, Sound Track is a utilitarian shop stocked with the usual suspects. Think Dave Matthews Band and Zeppelin. Sample phrase overheard in store: "I'm not sure which Goo Goo Dolls album I want, but can you order that Rod Stewart for me?" The personable clerks will gladly, without attitude, order Rod for you, as Sound Track is made for casual, mature listeners tracking down some top-40 wares.
The Goods
One of the larger collections of audio cassettes you'll find in the five boroughs lines the walls here, though the lion's share of ST's stock is in CD form. Check out the solid rack of music staples (with an especially good Bob Dylan collection), and hidden within the lettered dividers you might find more obscure matter, like the Orb or Mu-ziq. You can stop here for guitar strings, too--and everything is modestly priced.

Great place to buy tunes.
They know their music, and if they don't have it, they order for you. I'll keep going back, and I feel good about supporting a non-chain, non-slick music store.
