WTF?. My girlfriend and I went into Music Matters tonight to look at the used LP's and when we left without buying something the owner, I assume, completely unprovoked told us to find a more mainstream record store on 5th Avenue and flipped us off. Are you kidding me? It didn't seem like a bad store, but obviously the staff/owner is in a bad/sad place. It's especially funny that he finds the store non-mainstream. Yea, that's the first time I've seen The National or Neutral Milk Hotel LP's in a record shop. Give me a break.…
Music Matters is quite disappointing..
I loved record stores as a kid and still do as an adult. When I was younger, I'd have given anything to live a few blocks from a record store, the closest was about 50 blocks away. But that didn't

Flat out, Music Matters' high prices would be justifiable if the people working there were nicer. Take your business to Sounds on St. Marks Place. The people there aren't any better, but at least the prices are.…
Music really does matter.. This is a great music store, they have an excellent selection and as the previous review stated the owner is friendly and knowledgeable. I shop here for most of my music.
Great little neighborhood record store. I love this place. The guy who owns it is friendly and knowledgeable about music, prices are reasonable and if he doesn't have it, he'll order it for you. A park slope institution!
