This is THE place. After shopping at Banana haven't you ever wanted something more original and interesting? After buying jewelry or a purse at H&M haven't you ever wished you knew some small shop of designers with beautifully made pieces?

This is the place. I bought a pair of lacy underwear my boyfriend almost died over. I bought a pair of betty boop underwear that are SO cute. I've spent serious time contemplating some of their purses, which are the kind of pieces that you get stopped on the street by other girls who ask you where you got it. My mother came with me once and bought me the most beautiful camisole that I wear with jeans. I love this little gold clutch that I've had for two years that I bought there. And I've gotten two pairs of boots that girls, and even one guy have commented that they love.

So while It's nice to buy at the generic stores, this is the kind of place you talk about to your friends, that you buy signature pieces at. I love that you can talk to the designers personally and even make requests. Check it out.

At this boutique-cum-co-op, young designers split all costs and shifts. Thankfully, there's not a morsel of granola in sight.. The Scene
The tiny, chartreuse-fabric-draped store showcases the owners' (Yuki Ohta, Amara Felice and Andrea Fisher) work alongside that of their talented friends. Friendly staff, mellow shoppers and clothing and accessories you won't find anywhere else make for an experience you shouldn't miss.

The Goods
Remember this: Eidolon means "ideal image" in Greek and that is, explains Fisher, "what we want to create for our customers." Eidolon's a labor of love--and you'll feel it the moment you walk in the shop. Look out for Fisher's boudoir-inspired silk pants and sexy slipdresses, chunky crocheted hats by a.felice, delicate hand-printed journals by Ingrid Cusson and silver-lined clutches by Girl Genius.

a gem of a store. wonderfully creative store -- every item handmade by local artists. the prices are not what you'd associate with custom-made art-merchandise, since the artisans making these products clearly operate on low-costs, presumably making their goods themselves in their homes. the store itself is similarly, operated as a cooperative among several of the designers whose goods are featured at the store. while I was there, several customers from other parts of the city expressed how excited they were to have found this gem of a store tucked into a 300-sqft little curved space shaped like a piano.

You just can't leave this stuff there!. Plan on a long visit - there's so much to see. You just want to pick up each unique item. Then you have to figure out something YOU can do with it or someone you can give it to, because you just don't want to leave it there, especially at these prices.

I'm particularly taken with the Yukinyc handbags. The fabrics are gorgeous and they're functional, too. You can carry all your worldly goods around with you and still look fashionable.

Flirty Fashionable Fabulous. Eidolon is one of those stores that proves that the more cooks the better the soup. The owners and the many local artists they showcase and support provide an ongoing collaboration that benefits the buyer. I'm constantly amazed by the range of interesting and unique accessories and clothing that fit both body and pocket book. I'm constantly asked "Where'd you get that!" when wearing things from the shop. Look great and be the envy of all your friends! These girls rock!
