What Our Expert Scouts Say

Just a great everyday bagel shop, and not just for the bagels -- the sandwiches here are all first rate. I personally go for the flat bagels, i.e. flagels, which have more crunch and less carbs, and which take to slathering with butter very enjoyably, especially when hot.

Local place for bagels and breakfast - an old standby. Always consistently good food and good service. Fresh hot bagels, fresh coffee and you can order a real breakfast - like eggs or an omelette. Crowded during prime time. So I try to go at off peak hours.

Great neighborhood place...reliably good. Good food, good service, much more than your typical deli. great breakfast, good atmoshpere. You can sit down on the restaurant side or order out at the deli side. The best breakfast sandwiches, lox platters etc....pretty good parfait too... lunch is good too. prepared foods on the deli side as well with a heavy italian influence (the best stuffed peppers around).

The best bagel in the neighborhood. You know the bagels are good when every firefighter and cop in the zip code stops here to fuel up. There's always a line on the weekend, for good reason. For newcomers: the line on the left is to order, the line of the right is to pick up.

Always fresh bagels, good coffee. The bagels at Terrace Bagels are always fresh, they make bagels non-stop all day, and due to high turn-around of customers, everything sells out fast. There is always a good variety of toppings, cream-chease, sandwiches. Terrace Bagels coffee and sweets are also very good, better than in Conn. Muffin down the street.

I do, however, have to agree witht the previous reviewer about the prices, they are not cheap. If you want a bagel and a coffee for $1.50 (which used to be a standard Brooklyn price) - this is not the place to go to. I guess it can be explained by the lack of competition. there aren't many good bagel places around.

A little buttery, but super chewy and a normal size.

Great staff and large selection of other deli favs.

delicious. Tasty bagels, a good mix of fluffy and chewy texture with excellent flavor. The line is long, but the staff keeps it moving and usually everyone is friendly. They have an eat-in cafe next door, but if the weather's good you can walk over to the park and eat your bagel on a bench for a perfect morning.

Hot, Chewy and Delicious. Terrace Bagels is awesome! Bagels are fresh, perfect consistency and delicious. Often crowded, but the line moves fast. Friendly counter people (some of whom have been there for years)

best bagels. best bagels -- maybe in nyc. all the trimmings: lox, chopped liver, whitefish salad...plus a whole Italian deli sandwich & sides angle. great staff keeps the ridiculous lines moving.

A must for bagel lovers. I used to go to Terrace Bagels every single morning, but when I got a new apartment the best I could do was once a weekend, but it's always something I look forward to. I would get the raisin bagels and occasionally a plain with lox and cream cheese, but now I go straight for the lox since I don't get there often. Their bagels have the perfect softness to them, but on the outside there's a bit of crispiness to give it a bit of texture. Going early in the morning when they're still fresh is the best. One time I was there and asked for a bagel toasted (big mistake for newbies). The waitress came back to tell me the bagels just came out of the oven so she wanted me to know if I still wanted it toasted.

What's all the hype about?. This place is average... at best. The staff is arrogant, the prices are way high for Brooklyn. and for some reason people flock to it. Don't waste your time or your money.
