THEY MADE IT EASY!.
I recently used U. Santini on a complicated move. lt involved sending 2/3 of my stuff from a house in Brooklyn to another house upstate.
The other 1/3 had to be picked up, unloaded in storage, reloaded and delivered to a building in Manhattan. Oh, and on the way I asked them to pay for and pick up a dining table I had purchased from Craigslist.
I chose them because I'm old-fashioned, I like to deal with a business that has been around a while, is local, and where you can walk in and meet the owner. So after doing just that, I asked them to come over and give me a price. Naturally I also checked their record at the BBB and online.
The estimate I got was based on time and materials, not a 'flat rate', so I asked the estimator what were the chances of the estimate going over. He said that as long as I did what I said I would, i.e., pack my stuff as I had promised, that I would not be charged more. And in fact that's how it was.
All the moves went like clockwork, and to my surprise nothing was damaged. I should also mention that all my furniture is heavy, solid wood furniture, and I have a lot of heavy stuff like books and LPs.
The movers didn't complain and they dealt with everything that came up while staying cheerful and dedicated the whole move.
All in all, a great experience.

A horrible experience!.
Don't use this company!
This business is as sleazy as they come. The owner, Dan, tries to bilk you of extra money at every chance. Once they got my belongings to my new home, Dan wanted $2,000 more than the original price. When I said I wouldn't pay any extra, he threatened to have the moving men stay until I agreed to the new price. I said I would call the police because they were trespassing, and he finally backed down. He was verbally abusive, nasty, and even refused to back his own employee's estimate.
It was a horrible experience!
A negative review is concerning, especially when it is false. As the owner of U.Santini, I am proud to say that this is the first negative review we have received in 75 years. I am compelled to address this customer who wrote this review simply becausee she did not want to compensate U.Santini for services rendered. The customer was quoted an estimate based on the items we were supposed to move. Upon arrival, the crew was requested to move double the original request, which they obliged. Upon being billed the customer refused payment. At no time was I, or anyone on my staff unprofessional. Quite to the contrary, the customer was abrasive and rude and ultimately...a thief. I was raised to do the right thing always. Someone who takes advantage of a company and takes their time and services without paying is a thief. Our reputation speaks for itself and our proud history remains despite one negative post and idle threats to ruin our stellar reputation in the industry.
