“it's always dark and the atmosphere is very village slash dive bar to me but i love this place !”
“The service was friendly enough but we definitely had to wait way longer than we should have for water, a second round of beers, and to get our check at the end.”
“The food is excellent and fresh, and there's a nice variety.”

“This is a great place for the nostalgic (but just to look).”
“Gorgeous old bar with cool stained glass windows, great, cold brews and a friendly.”
“The drinks are overpriced and the bartenders act like you are privileged to be served by them.”
“The wait staff is rude and slow, the food is not fit for human consumption.”
Disappointed.
Went to Teddy's last night for Fat Tuesday - loved the music but the tap beers were warm and had a metal taste to them. We had a table but the wait staff was understaffed and it took forever to get a beverage. Food was okay-nothing to write home about.
the tap beer was a big disappointment - please check the taps and keep the beer cold!
Became pretentious.
I went tonight to watch the Yankee Championship game, have some food and some beers. The game was on, but the stereo system was playing 1970's country music. I asked 3 different people if they can play the sound from the TV over the sound system and was told "we are playing music now, we don't to mess with the ambiance of the diners". This was the answer I got from the female owner, and the bartender.
Mind you the sound is only played at the bar, not the dining area.
Everyone calls this place a neighborhood bar, buts it's not. It's pretentious to say the least. I stayed anyway because the game started, oh and the food was nothing to be desired. (i had the steak)
I mean, it's the ALCS NY Yankees, this still is new york city isn't it?? I'm sorry I wasted my time to go there.
Best place in Williamsburg. This place still..too this very day..has the greatest plate of cheesy nachos and wings around..Beer is still under 6 bucks..the waitstaff is always fun and the burgers ....wow..amazing...They always have great wines...good wines and not to expensive..so many restaurants are here in Williamsburg that are so awful..filled with annoying trust funders...this place stays true..We don't go out as much as we used to..but if we are going to keep one place that we will go to..Teddy's is IT....

Great atmosphere. Check out this story about Teddy's at Newsblaze and the Greenpoint Gazette:
Hugh Pool and John Ragusa: "Feelin' good Blues never felt better."
Just great!.
Just great.. good beer, good burgers and baseball.
Say anything else of Teddy's is an anathema, a slander.

Terrible service.
Teddy's food is pretty good.. But the service is the WORST I have ever seen. I am not saying this because I've been there once and had a bad experience but I have been there several times and had a bad taste in my mouth from the servers on several occasions.. Most of them have major attitudes, like I should be glad that they are there to serve me.. They take the order and then you have to wait so long for the drinks.. Forget about ordering another one cause you'll be finished with your food by the time it arrives to you, with another attitude.. We ordered burgers they didn't give ketchup and then when we asked she rolled her eyes.. No one even came over once to ask how our meal was or if we needed anything and it wasn't even busy?? The bartender was crazy and on occasion burst out singing out of nowhere, she was annoying and loud and we had to talk louder because she was so over bearing.. Def not going back there they're a bunch of "real winners" there and I'd rather give a tip to someone who deserves it!
P.S. I'm a waitress also so I know how overwhelmed and all you can become when it's busy and all but most times it's not considered busy enough for the laskluster service we have received on several ocassions..
Best wings and great nachos. I've been going to Teddy's for a few years now and even though we've had our ups and downs, it's my favorite place to go to in the Greenpoint/Williamsburg area. I recommend getting a nice local brew (brooklyn or bluepoint), a platter of wings, and the nachos supreme. Make sure you go with a few people and hope that they never release any sort of caloric information for the dishes.
Still Great. This place still ROCKS...it actually seems better...the staff is nicer and the wine is incredible...
good food..terrible sevice = tough choice. here's the thing. the food is good, the wait usually isnt bad even on weekends but the service? AWFUL. i've been here countless times with lackluster waitstaff and the food and drinks take forever. thats cool when you're hanging and talkin with your friends over some drinks but come ON! fill up my water once! just once. i think i'll stop going to teddys unless i hear they hire some new waitstaff...
Great sidestreet spot. My boyfriend and I love this place. It's nice and casual and a great escape from typical Williamsburg. We've always had a great food experience; we always get a couple beers and share the mussels (with white sauce) and we have yet to be disappointed. There can be a wait for a table, but there's usually a spot at the bar to tide you over. As for the service, I'd say it's not particularly amazing or terrible. The bartenders and waitresses are polite and attentive, but can be distracted by the amount of customers they're serving. Now that it's football season, we go there to watch the games on the multiple tvs.
