Asshat bartender. Soooo wanted to stop in and catch the 3rd period of the NY Rangers. It was on the TV way in the back where there was standing room only and a bunch of people playing with their dogs. So asked the bartender if he could change the bar TV (that had a basketball game).

I asked him if anyone was watching it and he said no but that he had to leave it on because people do come in to watch basketball.

So even though nobody was watching the basketball game the one person who wanted to watch a game and pay for beer, couldn't get the Rangers game on because someone MIGHT come in and watch a Boston vs. Chicago game of zero significance.

Oh, and it's a filthy s-hole

Sucks.

Citysearch Editorial Review. In a neighborhood full of indie rock joints and specialty cocktail dens, Williamsburg’s Brooklyn Ale House stands out as a bastion of unpretentiousness. The clientele varies widely--backwards-hatted sports fans, local old-timers and skinny hipsters all share space at the long, booze-soaked bar. Wooden booths and tables are gratuitously carved with messages and names etched by would-be artists under the influence. In back, a pool table and darts provide entertainment for those looking to have some fun while drinking one of the 14 beers on tap or the two cask ales.

perfect pub. saddle up at the bar, or relax at a table. this bar is perfect. excellent juke box, and they have attentive, cool bartenders. it feels like a bar, not a club, and that's well needed in the area.

It was Fun. Brooklyn Ale House is no typical touristbar. You can meet the real inhabitants of Williamsburg.
