“Their is nothing fancy about it - the tables are covered in paper, the waiters wear dirty aprons, the menu is shorter than this review, and the decor is not worth mentioning.”
“Then order any dessert with an Irish coffee and don't feel shy about asking for more schlag.”
“Before dinner I had a couple of cocktails which were superb.”
“was given the chance to go to Peter Lugar on my birthday last year and it was simply the best steak Ive ever had!”
“The steaks are just as good, with an assortment of tasty side dishes that make Peter Luger's menu look like the slip in a fortune cookie.”
“I'm new so I don't know how was back in the day, maybe this was a good place, but today is pricey without justification, Waiters are rude and food is less than average.”
“If I were a big spender and steak eater, I'm sure I would go back more often.”
“The first time I came, the waiters brought a decent looking slab of beef, but once I bit into it, I discovered that the meat was sparsely arranged between a network of veins and fat.”
“large portions full of flavor.”
“Tables packed too close together; food average; service slow; waiter had an attitude problem.”

The ultimate altar to steak in New York, Peter Luger attracts far-flung tourists, locals, and bridge-hopping Manhattanites for its aged steak, delicious bread, crispy french-fried potatoes and daily specials. Reserve far in advance.
The most famous steakhouse in America delivers on its promise of incomparable atmosphere and unique character. It's the template of all other steakhouses, and you are almost guaranteed to have a great time there, especially if your pockets are deep. The steak is not, in fact, that great anymore, but they're still very good for the most part, and their dressing of butter and kidney suet could make a steak-umm good. The hash browns, cake, bacon, and the other sides are wonderful too.
What's to say? Peter Luger is the best steak house on the planet. Unless you've been living under a rock you already knew that.
Arrogant not worth it. Steak was good. I guess when your there so long with thier reputation they can afford to be Nasty and arrogant even when making a res.Nothing you can't get at ten other steak places in the city. Go to a place where you get treated like a customer!!!!!!!!!
I will take that medium rare thank you. This is the one and only place I will go for a steak. I save up for a little then splurge on the porter house and a few glasses of Cabernet. Yes that is a good comination :)
The only place to go for a great steak. Here is the only restaurant I will ever go for steak, juicy, tender, nothing can be better than Peter Luger Steak House. I prefer the service at their location in Brooklyn, the best.

The hash browns were burned and the spinich had no flavor.

Hold the steak sauce. carnivores unite! the meat here is everything you expect. flavorful, juicy, and cooked to perfection. don't ruin it by asking for steak sauce
gettting bang for your buck. the portions you get for the amount you pay are huge! for such a critically renowned place, youd expect a lot less! cheers!
