Food is awesome and the lawn sitting is charming and enchanting. It's costly, but value the price.

Great First Date Spot. Came here for dinner last Friday night and had a fabulous time. We were greeted by the owner, Mario, who then sat us in a cozy corner in there beautiful garden. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious, we had a pizza for a starter and then I had the lamb and my date had the filet. Everything was great and will definitely be coming back

Great Williamsburg Staple. Been living in brooklyn for 10 years and been going to this place the whole time. The food is excellent. They have a wood burning oven that makes some of the best pizza around. Rustic pasta dishes that are great. I love the filet mignon with the red wine sauce and portobello mushroom cap. Live grape vines grow over the entire dining room. Service is always friendly and attentive and The owner can be seen at his corner table bringing it all together

Very charming indoor garden at night. Fiance took me there last night for my birthday and I absolutely loved it! He's been there once couple years ago and meant to take me there for the last 3 years but never had a chance. He said that if his memory served corretly, this place used to be completely outdoor, without the plastic roof. We got to the restaurant at around 9pm Friday night and only 3 other tables were filled. However, it did get busy shortly after we sat down. I fell in love with this place immediately as it made me felt like I was in a little garden somewhere in Europe. The ambience was very romantic and even before tasting the food, I already told my fiance that if our original plan didn't work out, we should have our wedding banquet in this restaurant (we are planning to have a very small wedding). We had the Spiedino de Mozzerella and Involtini di Manzo Tonnato as antipasti and we loved both of them even though they were not quite what we expected. He then had the Strozza Preti Amatriciana and I had the Gnocchi di Bietola as entrees and again we each loved the dish that we ordered. We were so full that we could only order one dessert to share and even though it was nothing really special, the panna cotta was not a disappointment.

Authentic Italian. Very pricey, but also very traditional Italian. The spaghetti bolognese tasted just like I remember in Rome. The filet mignon is melt-in-your mouth delicious. The lamb was a little dry but equally amazing. The ambiance in the garden is very romantic. The wait staff wasn't perfect but they always had a smile on their face.

DO NOT GIVE ACQUA SANTA YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!. DO NOT GIVE THIS BUSINESS YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY!!!

Where, on several occasions I have had an okay meal here, it is never consistent all across the board; where on some visits the food is lackluster and uninspired, at other times the service is non-existent or so sophomoric that I still end up leaving unsatisfied.

The real atrocities begin if you should ever attempt to order from them for delivery. On two separate evenings, including this past Sunday, I have placed orders and they never arrived - once, when after almost an hour (delivery promised in 30 minutes), I got a call from the delivery man telling me he was in front of my building (he wasn't). I then called the restaurant, and the woman I spoke to said it wasn't her fault. She's terribly misguided. Of course she is responsible, because she represents the restaurant, she manages the delivery staff, she is the service provider, etc. At one hour twenty, I left my house and went to the restaurant. I tried to speak with the owner, who payed absolutely no attention to me whatsoever, even when I gave him my business card and asked him to make things right (I had a very nice meal at D.O.C. Wine Bar). Note to Acqua Santa:

1. Find out if your delivery boys actually know the streets in the neighborhood

2. Ascertain if you can communicate with your delivery boys. If not, find a way to do so

3. Its 2008 pin heads - getting lost when you're only going five blocks is no excuse. You take the orders on a computer, hook it up to Google/Yahoo maps and hand your delivery persons the directions on their way out.

This phonomenon of not taking accountability which so fully pervades the restaurant scene in Billyburg/Greenpoint must be met head on by those of us (all of us) who have plentiful food options and can therefore spend our money somewhere else - lets patronize those retaurants that give us quality food, consistently prepared, excellent service and that ARE GENUINELY HAPPY TO SEE US.

ACQUA SANTA RODENTIA: avoid, unless you enjoy watching large vermin being beaten. a large rodent greeted my group as we sat down for dinner at acqua santa. it raced across the outdoor garden (where we were sitting). not to worry, the maitre d' and his crony busboys decided to terminate (or beat into oblivion) the poor thing with whatever pointy objects they had around (of which they had many)... clearly, they've done this before and had the enthusiasm and zest of pro athletes.

against better judgement, we stayed to finish our meal (we moved indoors) and were given no attention (not to mention no apology) by the waitstaff. the check came, and we did not receive a discount nor a credit for the appalling experience and poor service.

afterwards i researched the restaurant at the board of health's website and found that acqua santa has violations for having vermin their restaurant. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

American maybe like that kind of Pizza!!!!. There are better and better Italian restaurant in this neighborhood. I think acquasanta needs to hire an Italian chef in order to compete with other Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. What part of Italy do they make the pizza like acquasanta?

I recommend the Spiedino and calamari! Reasonable prices and very good wine selection.
