Horrible Place

I got a pedicure that cost me $26.00 - your basic nothing fancy pedi.

What first got my attention was that I did not notice the woman (Lara, Laurie) take her "tools" from the sterilizer - I thought maybe I was just not paying attention.

While she was doing my pedicure, she cut too close on two toes - one even bled a bit! Incidentally, that one is still sore after a week.

But the worst was that the manicurist asked if she could borrow a "tool" which she did and proceeded to USE it on HER client!

No washing, cleaning, sterilizing! Direct from my foot to this other woman's hands!

Comments to the manager about this might never have been made - she could not have been less interested. Maybe the Board of Health will be!

I grew up in the neighborhood and have been to the salon a handful of times both as a teen (and didn't know any better), in my early 20s, and then with my bridal party (for convenience's sake). I gave it a few tries and it is always the same = eh.

The truth is that overall this is not a bad salon, but it ain't so hot either. As far as haircuts (I can't speak for color, etc.), is nothing more than an average salon with a "fancy" exterior. I have never loved any haircut or styling they have given me. In fact, they were not even memorable. It's important to note that I am not a hair salon snob in any way, so this salon had plenty of chances to impress me and just never delivered.

So, for the uninitiated, understand what you are getting into. They do (collectively) have an attitude problem. So, if that doesn't appeal to you, then this is not the place for you, especially since it is not well-deserved. But you will find plenty of people in the neighborhood go to this salon to buy into feeling fancy and swear by the place. You can read their numerous reviews on this site.

But, I signed up just to write this review after seeing only a few truthful posts and felt compelled to keep these reviews accurate. And it seems like the salons read these reviews sometimes, so Pilo impress us with your work, not with your noses in the air. Acting cool in Bay Ridge does not give you credit anywhere else. If you work on these problems, then you'll really be a better salon for it.

• Cons: The Tude, not so hot cuts, not so hot prices.

Why does the salon write fake reviews

I think it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize almost all of these reviews are written by the same person or should I say the salon itself. The place is full of stuck-up stylists who are mediocre at best. I had my hair turned orange, I guess that's a new shade of highlights and my hair blown out by a stylist who complained the whole time how my hair was soo thick. That's good customer service. They should offer some of the sylists there a class in customer service 101 since after my close to 60 dollar hair cut that you couldn't even tell was cut, I never went back.
