The wild animal motif is perhaps more appropriate than it should be..
The Scene
A jungle-themed mural jumps out from behind leopard-print couches; blue-light fish tanks line the wall behind the bar, and elaborate candelabras seem to be the only other source of light. But the lounge atmosphere stops there. A DJ plays a hip-hop beat that gals in black leather pants and men in tight black shirts can't help but dance to, though it's so packed that there's only room for grinding--which nobody seems to mind.
The Draw
Cocktail waitresses, who stand out in their tastefully minimal attire, zip through the crowd with drink orders faster than that guy with the slicked back hair can find a matchbook and a pen. While many Bay Ridge bars empty out around 2am, Blue Zoo is one of the few around to draw a crowd right up until 4am. After peak time, get down to the sounds of "Grease" and disco.

Local homerun.
If you not in the mood to drive into the city you can find a city type lounge here in Bayridge. With its jungle theme, Blue Zoo boasts a comfy atmosphere including wooden voodoo statues atop exotic fish tanks and a gorgeous staff, from the beautiful bartenders to the drop dead DeeJay. The music is always top 40 with a hint of old school and dance. (good selection) Definitely a place to call home "Thumbs up guys"
