The Scene – It's the liveliest spot along Bay Ridge's thriving Third Avenue dining scene. Gussied-up Gen-Xers nosh on homemade potato chips and mingle to piped-in pop music in the bar's oversized booths. An elegant dining room, with flowing satin drapes, a flickering fireplace and dramatic ceilings frescoed with abstract aquatic art, is far more formal than the leafy outdoor patio. – – The Food – The seafood-dominant fusion menu features standout starters, like super-fresh raw bar oysters, crispy citrus-pepperoncini calamari and flaky lobster-mushroom tart with fiery…

The chef and the owner Anthony Rinaldi sends a "complimentary" drink to the table and then it shows up on a tap! Be careful! We signed the bill and he added 20% service charge after the signature! We had to dispute the charge...food was ok but overpriced! wine was the cheapest kind served with high prices! watch out! the place is a devil's hang out!
- Pros: location
- Cons: service, food , billing fraud
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCEW
by Josie891234 at Citysearch
I would never recommend The Pearl Room to anyone because:
1. I made a reservation and when I got there they didn't have it.
2. I Valet parked my car and received a $115 ticket which I wasn't NEVER informed of until one month latter in the mail with a LATE FEE now the ticket is $125. Then I call The Pearl Room and at first they told me they would take care of it as long as I had proof that I was at the restaurant that night. However, once I told them I was able to provide proof that I was at the restaurant they refused and told me I would have to speak to the manger or owner (who every time I called were not there and never called me back). (Talk about being un professional) .
- Pros: NOTHING
- Cons: EVERYTHING
If you like bland The Pearl Room is for you

We've had terrific meals here in the past so we had high expectations for a party we went to. The restaurant is nice and the staff excellent but everything from the Costco like rolls to the chicken skewers and mozzarella and calamari appetizers was bland. In fact the pepperoncini calamari I've had in the past was far superior to the bland marinara sauce they gave us. Entrees were equally disappointing, my sea bass was over cooked and the sauce devoid of taste, even the mashed potatoes were tasteless. Plating was bizarre, the tilapia was the color of cardboard and with the balsamic vinegar and red bean paste sauce it looked like ribbons on a package. No one finished their meal and the best thing was the occasion cake we brought in with us.
What happened to this place, did they change owners?
- Pros: Good Service
- Cons: Bland overcooked food
