Their closed!. Their closed! - gates are down and sign at entrance say 'For Rent'
Good for when no other place is open. Take-out is prompt, but the delivery guy always have a scowl on his face and isn't too friendly. The salads and cheeses are always good, but the pasta can be under or over cooked and sauces are generally very watery. Prices are very high for the actual quality of the food. I only order from this place when nothing else is open. The local Dominos had better pasta
Good Pizza bad reputation. I have had take out for the last 3 years from goodfellow, and each time my order was delivered fresh, tasty, and clean, I have never encounterd any problems in that time, and I order from a lot of other places in Bay Ridge, where it they don't make a mistake is beacause the owner took the order, in other words these places always screw up the order Now my kids tell me another story that they tried it with me and their order Chicken Parm hero, tasted really bad like spoiled cheese or the meat, and since then they have never ordered from them. They are not so forgiving for bad tasting food the prices are competitive but they make a mean pie...
Terrible-hopefully they'll be put out of their misery soon.. There are plenty of Italian restaurants in Bay Ridge, so there is absolutely no reason to ever go to Goodfella's. I've been to this restaurant many times, and every time I've gone I've ordered the gnocchi, but last night it was absolutely terrible. The gnocchi was spongy and severely undercooked. I don't like to complain because I've worked in the service industry for many years and I know the servers aren't responsible for cooking the food but because my order was totally inedible, I told the server that the food wasn't good and I couldn't eat it. She didn't ask me what I didn't like about it, didn't offer an explanation, and didn't apologize for the food, she just took the plate away and asked me what else I wanted. The server didn't give me a menu in order to decide, she just stood there holding the plate of gnocchi above my head and staring down at me waiting for me to answer her. I ordered spaghetti without a fuss, and while I waited my fellow diners shared their dinners with me. By the time she brought the spaghetti to the table, I'd already eaten a makeshift meal and asked her to pack the spaghetti to go. I got the feeling that food complaints are not allowed in this restaurant, and that the server was at the end of her shift and just wanted us to leave so she could go home. She was a poor example of someone fit to be in the food industry, unconcerned with customer satisfaction and unapologetic. I know this to be a direct reflection of business ownership, which is a shame because food is their business and they should be concerned about food quality and customer satisfaction. Sadly, I have seen the patronage of this establishment dwindle over the years, and after last night it will dwindle a bit more. I will never return to this restaurant, and I advise anyone looking for Italian Cuisine in Bay Ridge Brooklyn to look elsewhere.
Avoid during peak times..OK food. I've always found Goodfella's to be a little pricey for the quality of the food. This is the stereotypical "italian" american type menu which is fine..sometimes we all just want some eggplant parmigiana. however, they charge more than average for these very ordinary dishes and the portions aren't all that. I feel like this tyype of food should be family style or at least allow you to bring home leftovers. I'm used to Brooklyn Italian restaurants having plates that can feed at least two people. The last time i went (on Halloween) my dad's veal marsala was literally about 6 bites of super thin veal. My dad wasn't full and he does NOT have a big appetite. it's almost as if the food it's made for tourists even though i know it's not...Another issue is the service...the last time i was there, there were only THREE tables taken and yet the service was super slow and the waitress was not paying attention....they are always friendly but inattentive...and i'd rather have a waiter that will get my order RIGHT instead of chitchatting me all thru the meal and screwing up the order. Bonuses here are the garlic bread, and the fried calamari...as far as i'm concerned there is only ONE reason to go here and it's the chicken Goodfella's (i think that's the name)...it's a creamy garlicky sauce over penne with white wine and grilled chicken breast mixed in....that's the only unique dish and it's delicious. But honestly, they could do much much better especially for a place run by Italians in a largely Italian area
Nothing good about Goodfellas. I went to Goodfellas with a group of about 10 people. The service was unbelievably slooooow and by the time we were finally served, all of our food was COLD! Definitely not worth the wait!
The food is great. When I moved to Bay Ridge a year ago, I was excited because there were so many different places to eat. Unfortunately, I've been extremely disappointed, as I've found that despite the variety, there only a few places with food good enough to deserve your time and money. Goodfella's is one of them. Their pastas are great, and their brick-oven bread is to die for. The brick-oven pizzas are good because they are made from the bread. I usually have the shrimp fra diavolo, which has not disappointed me yet. It's got great classic Italian dishes, and a nice Italian feel. I definitely recommend.
they can't get it right. When we first moved to the 'Ridge this was our favorite restaurant. But, alas, no more. The kitchen seems to screw up our order literally half of the time. Our last dine-in experience was the last straw -- my wife's entree arrives, but oops, mine was never put in. Manager couldn't be bothered to come over and acknowledge the mistake. They have a nice menu but they don't know how to run a restaurant.
Great Value, Great Italian Food. Goodfellas is like my 'old faithful' Italian restaurant in Bay Ridge. They have all the classic Italian dishes, and all are great. I eat there often, and get food delivered even more often. I have had Goodfellas at least 30 times, and I have been please every time. One of their best qualities is their cost... everything on the menu is reasonable priced. If you are looking for some classic Italian food in Bay Ridge, then Goodfellas is the place to go.
Try the "Chicken Goodfellas" it was excellent..
It is definately worth checking out..
Parking in Bay ridge is always an issue, so you might as well just walk from home..
There are many places in the neighborhood for after dinner drinks.. (and dancing, if that's what your looking for)
