“It is indeed a romantic and beautiful place to have your dinner in peace!”
“They offer a small but good selection of beer and wine from India, and their cuisine can please the most spice-averting palates of those American friends of yours who claim to not like Indian food.”
“No matter how much or how little heat you request, every dish is incredibly well-prepared and incredibly flavorful.”

“It has great food and good service.”
“The price is affordable and you leave very satisfied.”
“am living far in long island but i would rather drive and have great food.”
Enjoyable experience very tasty. My wife and I venture out this afternoon in search of a new restaurant and decided to check out India passage. The anniversary banner of 26 years caught our eye. The place is being renovated and was looking good. We ordered what the waiter recommended. The naan bread was great especially with the pink dipping sauce. We had these veggie Samos triangle things that were amazing. The grill food was fresh and flavorful. We also got free ice cream rose flavored never had that. It was really different and good. We had a great afternoon and my wife will probably host her cousins baby shower there as well. Catering prices are really good!
Beggars Can't Be Choosers.
Face it -- when it comes to Indian food, there is not much to choose from in Bay Ridge. In fact, I'm only aware of two: India Passage and Taj Mahal.
I haven't eaten here in person, but the food I've ordered has been pretty good. Taj Mahal's food was okay, but not great. If you're looking for something a little more authentic, you'll probably have to go to a neighborhood with more Indian people in it.
For what it is, where it is, this has so far been a pretty good place. The prices were just raised a few months ago, so it is not quite as affordable as it once was.
Did we all eat at the same place?. I was craving Indian one night and we decided to try this place.. oh what a mistake, the food was so poorly prepared that we just wanted to pay for them to take it out of our site. We should have known not to eat here when there was a number of flies buzzing about the restaurant. That is always is a bad sign. Try the cheesy nan bread if you really want to purge, I think they dump cheese whiz inside. Stay far away from this place.
a pleasant surprise in the deep recesses of brooklyn..... i'm struggling valiantly to find something negative to say about this place, but i truly can't. great service, atmosphere, and most importantly, great food! i've been to many indian restaurants and have not liked a single one until i went to india passage. if my finicky stomach enjoyed it with no messy after effects, i'm sure you will, too.
Fantastic place. One of the best places I've ever been in. The food is great, the staff is polite and accomodating. The only negatives are the ability of the bartender to mix drinks and parking. But it shouldn't keep you from checking this place out. Try Bhati Kebab and Bengal Shrimp... Delicious!
Absolutely amazing Indian cuisine..
I have tried many many Indian restaurants in the NY Metro area and India Passage is hands down the best!
It was originally recommended to me by an Indian physician and for very good reason. And even those who have never tried Indian food before will enjoy it.
The comment by one of the reviewers that the food was not spicy hot is really meaningless as the kitchen will prepare the dishes for you however you wish -- from hot, hot, hot to not hot at all. No matter how much or how little heat you request, every dish is incredibly well-prepared and incredibly flavorful.
India Passage is very fairly priced considering what you get and is expertly and professionally run by owner / manager Farouk.
This is one of my favorite restaurants of any kind and I recommend it highly.
Disappointing.
Everything tasted like dinner food- not enough spice, not enough sauce. The rice was tough and bland. We ordered 3 kinds of lamb dishes- they weren't bad but the meat was tough and again..not nearly authentic enough- more like fast food Indian. The only great thing came at desert- rose ice cream is sublime.
But another great disappiontment- masala tea- it was just a tea bag! If that was served to me at the beginning of the meal I would have known to leave the restaurant right away.
Disappointingly bland. I wish I could give this place a good review and maybe it was the chef that night, but I can't. I did do takeout and found the food to be not terribly tasty or flavorful. The Chicken Tikka Mahknee had almost no tang to it, the Banghen Barta was bland mush and the Vegetable Samosas were ok but more filler. The Mango Chicken and the rice were the tastiest items overall, and that's about it.
Highly reccommend the restaurant. This is my boyfriend's family favorite Indian restaurant in Brooklyn and I highly agree with them. The food is good and they can accommodate to your taste. Their chicken tikka masala is very good, as well as their cream of broccoli. The parking is the worst part of this place.
Delicious!. I am not an expert on Indian food. All is know is that I had a delicious meal with the most incredible rice. There was a lot of food and it was all excellent. I went on a Monday evening and it wasn't crowded at all. Service was great. You have to go downstairs to use the bathroom.
