Tips for Bridgeview Diner

I had absolutely the worst Thanksgiving dinner ever. My wife, son, and I went.

True, it was thanksgiving and it was crowded, but waiting an hour, and constantly

having to ask for service is not pleasant. The waitress tried, but the main courses

took an hour. Busy or not that's way too long.

But we would have been better off if those dishes never came.

The steak was passable but not great. The pork chop was so tough you

couldn't cut it. we sent it back and refused to pay for it. I ordered a duck.

What I got I suppose was a duck, but it resembled an overboiled chicken.

It had none of the spices associated with duck. It was overcooked to the point

of having no flavor at all. And the stuffing, if you can call it that, looked more like a swamp.

While I didn't pay for the cast iron pork chop, we I did pay for the other two catastrophes. What a waste of $$. Mcdonald's would have been much better.

Could be...Should be...but isn't. I have mixed feelings about the Bridgeview. The food is good (for diner food), the portions are huge, the waiters are usually good, and I don't know why people complain about the cleanliness of the place, it always seems tidy to me.

The place is just too expensive. Manhattan (diner) prices. But my chief beef is management. They act like the place is La Grenouille or something. Not exactly a down to earth Brooklyn diner. And the hostesses can be just as snobby and officious at times. I won't be back.

Eveything about this diner SUCKS!. If you have any respect for yourself you will stay away from this so called "Diner". It is filthy, the staff are a bunch of imbeciles and the food looks like they got it out of a dumpster! If you think I'm kidding...go there and see for yourself! Any positive feedbacks you read about this diner are most likely written by its staff. BE FORWARNED!

Best burgers. Great service, walked in with a group of 6, sat us down immediately. Service was prompt, and friendly. Cleanest Diner in New york, great burgers, cooked to personal taste, and best coffee.

Victimized in Brooklyn. All I can say is Oh My GOD!!! Never attend this restaurant. It was fully staffed with a bunch of mobsters. I have NEVER been treated so RUDELY at a restaurant. I could tell from the beginning that this was going to be a terrible experience. The staff constantly ignored you, they took butter from our table and gave it to another customer and when we asked for more butter they continued to ignore us. We had to beg for syrup and WATER. What more can I say: They added a misc. charge to my bill for 5.00, when I asked what it was for they ignored me some more. What kind of mess is that? I finally got fed up and told them well if you are going to continue to ignore me I am going to ignore the bill. I walked out and they followed me, I made the comment so now you want to talk. On top of all of this the food was cold and mediocre. This sure was no TOM's restaurant on Washington in Brooklyn, NY. I will never recommend this place unless you have a passion for punishment. The only reason we stayed was out of desperation because we had hungry children and there were no other diners close by.

Avoid at all costs!. My family and I went to this diner last week while on vacation in NYC. Wow, what can I say? Horrible. As soon as you walk in, you get the feeling that you have travelled back in time. The place is old and not very well kept. I can imagine what the kitchen looks like. There are about 10 "hosts" in jackets who watch your every move while you are eating. It is very creepy. The doorman wears such a tight jacket that you can see his firearm protruding from his waist. It's a DINER for goodness sake! Don't even get me started on the menu. It is about a 100 pages long with tabs. Completely ridiculous. The food is subpar and took way too long to come out. The editorial review recalls it as swinging Vegas. Ha! More like a creepy old mob diner. Very strange dining experience. I have no idea how they are still in business. Don't waste your time with this dump.

Horrible customer service! Nasty first thing in the morning!. Came in for an 8am early morning business meeting, and the staff were extremely rude and veyr unaccommodating! Communication was horrible! Tried to communicate that needed a place to sit for a business meeting, and instead became blaming and rude. The place had only one other customer and could not be accommodating! There are many other places to eat, would choose elsewhere since the service is terrible. The food is so-so... it IS just diner food. There is another diner one street away. Management should revisit their customer service.

its open because there aren't any real diners in upper bay ridge. The service is slow, and each time I've eaten there the food was cold (eggs and pancakes) or it was warm (salad). The only reason that this place is still open is because it lacks competition. If there were another diner in Bay Ridge that served good food, at the right temperature, it would close down.
