The WORST POSSIBLE experience in fine dining. It was a huge mistake to expect a quality evening at this restaurant. They had our reservation at the wrong time & we had to wait for 40 minutes. After we were finally seated, the hostess offered us a free round of drinks as a token of their appreciation for our patience. The waitress came by & took our order for the comp drinks. In 5 minutes she came back saying that they can't give us comp drinks, instead they will give us comp dessert and non-alcoholic beverages, while they were aware we were going with the pre-fix menu & dessert was already included.Being civilized and polite costumers we looked at the situation in a positive light & decided to go with the regular menu, accept the comp dessert & order wine,so we told her to forget about the drinks since nobody asked for them in the first place. The waitress came back in 10 minutes with 4 of the drinks and when we reminded her that we are ordering wine, she rolled her eyes & argued with us in a non-professional tone. Finally, the entrees were served and BIG SURPRISE everyone's meat was not cooked as we asked. Those who wanted rare, received medium well, while those who asked for medium, received rare. When we addressed the issue with the waitress, she said that she thinks it's pretty rare, while you could not even see a little bit of pink in the meat. That's when she said the funniest thing during the evening: "Sir, you should have said you wanted EXTRA RARE!!!"Well,if you know anything about steak & I believe we do(all of us usually dine an Peter Leuger, Tavern on the Green, Smith&Wollensky),THERE'S NO SUCH THING!Anyway,it was time for dessert and guess what!?!The waitress came by and said the desserts & beverages are no longer comp.At this point her tip was a huge zero, but the bill had everything from appetizers to desserts & on top of that there're about $80 of tips already on the bill.It was time to speak with the manager.Another dead lead! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, the worst in history of all restaurants including diners! AVOID!

Must Try. Hunter Steakhouse is definitely a must-try. Food was excellent - we had the filet mignon (perfectly cooked) and the filet of sole stuffed with crab meat (so delicious). The prices are affordable and the atmosphere was great for a nice, romantic dinner

Pleasant Suprise. My wife took me out to Hunter's for my birthday this year and to tell you the truth, I wasn't expecting much about this place. I WAS WRONG!!! I tried the Porterhouse and was shocked to find that it COULD actually be as good as the Porterhouse at Smith and Wollensky or Peter Luger's! The atmosphere was very relaxed and casual, but the food was excellent. And it didn't have to break the budget.
