“The worst customer service ever!”
“The prices are affordable and the atmosphere was great for a nice, romantic dinner”
Good meal, affordable price. This is a nice place to have a casual dinner with the family at. The menu is good and the food is always tasty..
Bad start...Big Surprise. Times are tough and the place was empty except for the bar. Lots of flat screen TV's around with OTB and sports which attracted a seedy crowd. Drunk loud dudes to my right and a couple to my left. Woman in her 40's drunk showing her boobs to her boyfriend. He made a comment about those F'n Jews. My date wanted out! We stayed, and went to the dinning room. It was like another world. The glass wall blocked the bar noise and the dinning area was nice. I ordered the prime rib on the bone and it was huge and very good (I didn't expect it to be). My date had the fillet. She loved it. I would go back, but I would avoid the bar.
For a good steak, go elsewhere.. If you’re looking for a good steak, Hunter’s is not the place. Small portions of poor quality food, poorly prepared, and high prices are all this place offers. A new chef with an eye for quality would be a welcome change.
Food Fun and Service.
8 of us went there last Friday. We had a great time The service was great and the place itself was really nice. We were meeting up for drinks and a few appetixers so we shared five or six appetizers then we
decided to stay for dinner. I wont go into everything we had but everyone said their entree was delicious.
We were there for about 4 hours and the check came to about $350.00 and that included a ton of drinks.
I will be going back and bringing friends.
best steak in bay ridge. I had a great experience at hunters steak and ale house. The service was excellent and the food was great.I highly recommend you try the porterhouse or the filet mignon.
big change from past. what has happened...used to be my favorite ..now is ...i will not return...steak is tough....service is ok....go back to what it used to be and maybe i will return..for now i will go elsewhere...sorry.
Good Food, Good Service. I read a lot about violations here but the few times I have eaten here the food was really good and the service was excellent.
It's neither fine nor dining.
We came for the "Dine in Brooklyn" special.
This restaurant is reminiscent of mom-and-pop shop in nowhere, Indiana, only there the food it good.
First, they didn't have our reservations. Which wasn't a big deal, because the restaurant was half-empty.
There wasn't much choice for the food - soup or salad, three or four entrees, and three types of dessert. Coffee was also included.
The bread was not fresh, the butter rock hard.
The salad was decent, they actually used fancy lettuce.
The steak was possibly the worst I ever had, I think it was worse than diner steak. it was fatty, too salty, burnt, and, all in all, seemed like a very, very cheap piece of meat. The baked potato was just a plain baked potato, seemed like it was even baked in the microwave.
The coffee was instant (!), I think you get better coffee in third world countries, and the dessert was horrible. Tiramisu didn't have the taste of tiramisu, just lady fingers, mascarpone and cocoa haphazardly connected, and the cheesecake seemed to be about three-days old.
Let's not forget the wines. When asked how a particular wine was (there are about 20 different wines on the wine list), the waitress responded "popular." Upon coming home, googled the wine - it's about $3.99 in a store. The restaurant charged 30 or 40 bucks for it.
Finally, the entire restaurant seemed to be in a greasy fog, which settled on people's glasses. I wear contact lenses, and the air in there completely dried out my eyes.
I would say that this meal should cost no more than $10 altogether, instead of "a good deal" for $23.
Definitely DO NOT recommend.
Steak House?.
I was there because of the Brooklyn restaurant week, but it was a bit disappointed. : (
I went there with 2 of my buddies, one of them order a steak special, in which, it was tasteless & hard, even it was cooked "medium rare". Me & another buddy share a porterhouse which is recommended by our server, again, it wasn't one of those restaurant week special tho, but it was hard. overall, it was a bad experience for us.
The worst customer service ever!. We wanted to get advantage of the Brooklyn restaurant week, and got together with 4 couples.whole restaurant experience was horrible, unlike at any other steakhouses or other fine-dining places we?ve been to.The reservations were recorded incorrectly and we were seated 40 minutes late. The hostess offered to get us a round of drinks for being patient with her that the table was not set up, meanwhile the whole place looked half-empty.We placed orders for the cocktails, and then the waitress came and announced it will be very expensive for the restaurant and instead we can have desserts and coffees on the house. We decided to order $30 steaks. We thought the desserts would be a nice finish. We agreed to that and started to check the wine list. The waitress comes back with a tray of drinks and starts putting them down,we told her that we don?t want the drinks since we are going to order wine and regular menu. She gave us attitude & stormed off.We placed the orders, & the meats came overcooked and undercooked for some. When it was time to deliver the desserts, the waitress announced that we are not getting them, because the hostess made a mistake when she promised us the free drinks, then when our waitress promised to substitute desserts and coffee,it WAS a mistake AGAIN.This ?confused? woman was very angry that we wanted to take advantage of the situation & announced that she NEVER had problems with any of her customers. We told her with this attitude she will not have ANY customers.Btw, she didn?t even take orders & didn?t deliver the desserts & coffees, she send another co-coworker, because she was fuming. After the bill came, the desserts, coffees, plus 17% gratitude were all added to the bill.We said it was unfair: they can?t give attitude like that AND expect us to tip them well,& without our permission. The manager and the hostess all came to ?resolve? the situation, and they did take off for the desserts, but the evening was ruined.Don?t waste your time and money on this place!
