Home Style Italian Food. I have been going to Ortobello's for a few years now and anyone that I have ever taken to the restruant have raved about the food. Those from out of town wished the restruant was a chain so they could find one in their town. Those of us lucky enough to live around the area and know about the quality of food and service are glad there is no chain, as you can not bottle what they have here except the balsamic vingarette!! Hats off to Luigi for giving us the most delicious food in the Bensonhurst area.

Deeeee-lish!. I have passed Ortobello many times and never thought to go in. Nothing about it jumped out at me and got my attention. Then, a friend who lives close by raved about the food, and I decided to go one night with her and check it out. I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is very small and there is indeed very limited seating. If you are looking for a trendy atmosphere, this is NOT the place for you. Instead, it is cozy and comfortable. The food is absolutely fantastic!!!! I could not get enough of the house balsamic dressing, and the portions are the largest I've seen anywhere. Two people can definitely share a main course. As a matter of fact, I brought my leftovers home and got two more meals out of it!! I was so impressed that I brought my husband back the following week and he raved about it. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is not concerned with atmosphere, but is looking for some EXCELLENT food!!!

a true family italian restaurant. ok the only thing that i disliked was the (chilled) wine. appetizers are heaping off the plate. the salad is offered with the house balsamic vinaigrette reduction. take your pick. you cant go wrong with anything on the menu at this place. broccoli rabe is perfectly prepared. the veal parm falls off the plate. lasagna so large...i dare you to eat it in one sitting. nice italian cheesecake...this family operates a tight ship. the only negative...limited seating and small kitchen. get there early.

Excellent!. I have never encountered a bad meal or poor service here! Best italian food I have ever eaten and the waiters are so very friendly. I feel like I am family when I eat here. Very homey atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable! I go to eat at least once a week with my boyfriend and order house wine, appetizers, and two meals and our bill is never over $100.
