Greeat local indie bookstore

A well-stocked, pleasant, if somewhat bland independent bookstore, that seems to be holding its own against the encroaching B&N just across Atlantic Avenue. They have a great fiction section, and a very well stocked local section, especially focussing on Brooklyn. The Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They'll special order anything you can't find in the store. There are also frequent author readings and events in the store.

Everything Old is New Again:
Used books are back! Due to an awning that broke---and stayed broken for several months---the Bookcourt tradition of selling used books outside on rolling carts had to be suspended for a while. But it's back, and it's better than ever.

The assistants who work here are eager to help. Often their suggestions are exceptional and unexpected.

Situated on busy Court Street, the shop is close to several local cafes, boutiques and a movie theater. It's also only one block up from trendy Smith Street, if your interests range from literary to extravagantly fashionable.
