What Our Expert Scouts Say

November 11, 2012

Grimaldi's is now technically Juliana, but more important than the name is the man himself: yes, Patsy Grimaldi has come out of retirement to make the pizzas that caused his name to ring out among New Yorkers for so many years. Just as importantly, the coal oven that powered all those pies is still in action, and just as blisteringly hot. Leave yourself extra time, though: no matter what the name, the lines are always long.

The pizza here is amazing. If you want to go make a trip here make sure you go ahead of time because with pizza so delicious like this place the line is always long.

Good not great. The pizza is very good, but the attitude is so bad that I'd rather support establishments that make pizza that does not taste as good but puts at least some effort into customer service. For a list of the top 10 restaurants https://files.nyu.edu/jdy215/public

DEFINITELY stands up to the hype. My husband and I are pizza lovers, so naturally before visiting NYC from Australia, I did a little research about where to get the best pizza. Grimaldi's came up time and time again so I made sure it was on our agenda.

Such the perfect way to top off a walk across the Brooklyn bridge. The area in Brooklyn Heights has a real historic feel and fabulous for your senses, The Gramaldi building is an old bank and has a lot of character inside and out. When we walked in, we were surprised by how fresh and modern it was,

The pizza certainly didn't disappoint, it was EXACTLY what you would hope you pizza would taste like. The best part is that you get presented with a blank canvas to make your own pizza, so you are getting exactly what you want.

The service was fast but I didn't feel rushed. Not overly friendly... they let the pizza do the talking. The restaurant is CASH ONLY. I recommend the visit.

Ugh. The pizza crust tastes like flakeboard , the sauce tastes like Ragu, the crowd thinks its cool to be cattle, cell phone conversations are loud and abundant and the illegals make the pizza.

Great place to go!. Great place. Its busy, and jam packed during busy times, but the food is great and the people are friendly. they also keep things moving pretty quickly.

MY BOYFRIEND HAS AN ADDICTION TO THIS PLACE!. "Let's go to Grimaldi's!" This statement is expressed to me from my boyfriend no less than 5 times a month. We live about 20 minutes from Grimaldis and there is SOME GOOD DARN PIZZA in our neighborhood and well, within a 5 minute drive or train ride of us and STILL he MUST go to Grimaldis... NEED I SAY MORE? LOL

Long wait for good pizza. there seems to be a general feeling of love/hate with this place, which i'm saying is due to the wait. the pizza is good. The sauce is kind of sweet and the crust is thinish and crispy, the way that a good brick oven pie should be and the way that many places fail to make them. if you like dominos, thick crusted pies, or really topping heavy pies, you won't like this pizza. It's meant to be light and thats the way you should order it. Get it plain and you probably won't be disappointed.
