Wonderful View and Delicious Food!.
We are from Indiana, and we visited Pete's Downtown because of its location. We walked from Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge and wanted to eat dinner while looking at the Manhattan Skyline.
We were VERY pleased with this restaurant. Service was fast and courteous, and the food was EXCELLENT. (I highly recommend the salmon, the mashed potatoes in the potato-chip cup, the green beans, and the ice cream with the dark chocolate coating and raspberries for dessert!)
Our corner table provided us with the most amazing view of the skyline, and we watched boats sailing past us while we dined. It was perfect in every way, and I would highly recommend Pete's Downtown to anyone wanting a similar experience!

DO NOT PLAN EVENT HERE.
I was trying to plan a party and the location and view made me strongly consider Pete's. I followed up with several members of management at Pete's hoping to plan a party for my sister. I was told different things numerous times. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, and after 2 calls to the same manager who confirmed the answers he spoke were true, I went to the restaurant to give in my cash deposit as required. I live in the Bronx...
When I arrived, I was once again told different information, told the owner had to OK the booking (he was not there) and to call the owner the next day to see if he could allow me to book the event. I opted to not call the next day and waste anymore time with them!
Needless to say, I would NOT recommend you plan an event here. It seems that answers change daily and you will risk your event being nothing like what was originally described to you.
As someone who has worked for many years in retail and hospitality, I am surprised they have any events at all considering their poor customer service.
Save yourself the stress and plan your next party somewhere else!

Pete's is Great. Pete's Downtown has great food, good service, and a very nice view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Skyline. Always a great time! Amazing Grilled Shrimp Angel Hair. The menu has a pretty good selection. The view really makes it a special night.

Nice Atmosphere - Average Food.. I've eaten here twice. The food is average - not great not bad. I had the penne vodka and it was decent. My husband enjoyed the kids chicken fingers better than his own meal. The atmosphere is nice and we were seated right away. The waitstaff was attentive. This seems more like a touristy type place to me though - I will not eat there again.

great food and atmosphere. this place was great! we went for my boyfriend's birthday and all the food was absolutely deliciuos... the location is excellent... a GREAT time was had by all!!!!

Go for the view only~.
I don't understand why this restaurant is rated 9.0 and why the above people gave such generous reviews. The appetizer took 30 min and entree took 1 hour. They didn't even taste good.
The view was great though. The park is right there by the water as well which can make your date finish somewhat romantically.
The only bright side of my experience was the lovely lady sitting in front of me.
Do not go unless you have lots of time and patience.

Been There, Done That.... Good thing was we didn't have any trouble getting a table. The rest of the experience was average. While it's true there's a great view of the Brooklyn Bridge and a short walk to the adjacent parks, the menu was average and the food was not memorable. Everything was acceptable, but not spectacular. Wouldn't make a good impression on a date--unless you date was from out of town. Nothing wrong with the service, either, but don't we all want something more from a dining experience than just average for above-average prices?

One of my favorites.
Frequently eat there. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. The food is great. Pete's Garlic bread appetizer is delicious and the Stuffed artichoke (often a special of the day) is my favorite!
Great for groups, family's or dinner for two. I highly recommend it you wont be disappointed.

Pete's and Walt Whitman.
Great place to have a good Italian Meal (and a view of Brooklyn Bridge and NYC - from Brooklyn !
Best place for dinner before (or after) a concert at Barge Music - which is just accross the street.
Great Kitchen and Staff will make anything you want to eat - make sure to take a walk to the waterfront after dinner and read the words of Walt Whitman engraved on the railings.
