It may be the best hip-hop store in New York.. The Scene
Located on a corner of downtown Brooklyn's bustlingly garish Fulton Mall, Beat Street houses home audio equipment on its first floor; descend to the basement and you'll enter a never-never land of hip-hop vinyl. The hit album playing at one end of the store competes with the latest 12-inch emanating from the live DJ booth at the other. The DJ scratches his way to victory.

The Goods
You'll find a comprehensive selection of hip-hop CDs and good coverage of other major genres here, but it's the vinyl selection that shines. Come for the rare new promo 12-inches and an obscure mix of that old-school Rakim track alike. You'll also find all the DJ accoutrements you need.
