A one-stop shop for sweet and savory Syrian delights..
In Short
This no-frills Syrian bread and pastry shop has been family owned since 1930. Crates of whole wheat, garlic, sesame, and regular pitas at rock-bottom prices line one wall, and a friendly counter person attends glass display cases for honey-rich pastries such as walnut lady fingers and pistachio birds nests, or traditional Middle Eastern cookies, such as mamool and gorayba. Shelves are lined with savory phyllo dough pies filled with combinations of spinach, lamb, feta cheese, and potatoes.
