Gourmet Clover-made coffee and a sleek look have made this Williamsburg cafe a hot spot for designer-clad hipsters..
In Short
Williamsburg's beau monde tap away on laptops as low-key electronica subtly pulses underneath the whistles and whirs of the star attraction: the expensive and increasingly popular Clover machine. El Beit is practically a spokes-store for the new wave of Williamsburg cool--sure it's a little pricier than the Read (the storefront's previous resident) and a little more populated by people wearing expensive looking clothes, but the coffee is better--way better. The chic, modern look and central Bedford Avenue location make it very popular with the tourist crowd.
Hits: Make sure to at least try a cup of El Beit's signature coffee--at around $3 a pop, it's not cheap, but every cup is specially brewed in the wondrous Clover machine.
Misses: The vibe can be a little steely--not snobby--just quiet, and oddly cold.
