good job. Mariachi Restaurant is amazing. I was so happy with the food, it was cooked perfectly and the servers were very attentive, my drink was never empty. Thanks!
Huge rip-off. Ordered through Seamless and was REALLY disappointed. The "large" vegetarian nachos, at $7.50, were 12 chips. Not a pile, a small pizza box with 12 individual chips amply spaced out, with stuff on them. (And not even any meat to justify the price.) My two vegetarian friends had planned on splitting that--it was really unfortunate. My shredded chicken taco had a gross, hard piece of cartilage in it--a large one. The "dreamy death" shakes were tasty but mostly ice. $3 for five sips of milk and orange juice. The food that wasn't problematic was just okay. It's a shame the better Mexican places in the area aren't on Seamless, because I'm never ordering from this place again.
Do not go there.
On May 7th, 2010, I came over there for fourth time. (I am not a regular customer. last time I was there with my friend in March of 2009). I ordered one a very small shot of tequila (I thought this is the place to get a real taste of it), chips and guacamole. That was all. Soon after I asked for the bill. It was $17.37. According to receipt I had 1 extra chips - $2.50; 1 Guacamole - $3.50, and 1 Don Julio Reposado - $9.95. I put $3 dollars tips, and paid with a credit card.
As I mentioned above, I visited this restaurant with my friend in March of 2009. Back than, except the food we ordered, we were given bowls with chips and guacamole; the waitress commented that chips and guacamole were going with any order and will not be included in the bill.
However, on this day, May of 7th, I made a friendly conversation with the waitress about the restaurant, about being busy and my very rare visits, when she brought a bill. I did not mention about impression that guacamole had the taste seemed as not fresh made, however, revealed my finding that tequila is so expensive (please see prices and sub total above). Liliana, the waitress explained that "it was brand". I believed (and still believe) it was. Liliana relayed that real tequila is expensive, and "one bottle of it cost $50-60".
On Friday, May 14th, I needed to check deposit of my tax return I did three days prior and, when saw details of my transactions, got a shock: on May 11th Los Mariachis charged me for $37.74. (The total was $17.37 and plus $3 tips).
On Saturday, May 15th, I came over there and wanted to talk to the manager. However, there was Liliana. She said her husband is manager, and he is away, but she can help me. I did reveal her copies of my receipts and a printed out my account activities. I admired Liliana's cold look at the moment she saw the discrepancy. The most interesting instead of being apologetic or say something to smooth the situation, she wanted to know my story as how I did find it (?!). She said that she never check her own transactions because she is busy (so I am, but I discovered about it accidently); she said that does not know as how it happened because she swiped my card and charged only $17.37 plus $3 tips. Liliana stated that wants to find the original of receipt (she did repeat it few times), but did not do that and instead gave me back overcharged $20. However, I said that if she wants to restore my faith in her business, she would better needs to return all my money because I paid for being betrayed. She was not happy with my statement and did repeat few times that she can offer me only a drink. Then I said, if I had such problem while running my own business, I would better returned all money in order to rectify such bad situation. Also I asked her, if she heard about posting reviews on the internet; she said "yes". I was told by some other people who used to come to Los Mariachis that it is getting worse. I know now why.
Liliana, I am going to call you and notify that I wrote review. Please read these lines and acknowledge that it was not actually about the money. It was about you. You acted as it was nothing, and I want to let other to know why. Because , if you did it with me, you do the same with others. I am sure now that not only one who have been overcharged, but I am one who accidently found it out. Just wondering: do you do it on your own or your manager husband knows about? Ten years ago my Mexican friend brought me to Los Mariachis for the first time. We are still friends. Thanks, God, he is not like you.
I do not know about the owner, then to Liliana and her husband: there is the image of the Virgin Mary in the restaurant. Why?..
Average food at above average prices. My boyfriend and I spent the weekend thinking about better ways we could have spent our money. The food had no flavor and I expected soooo much more from a genuine mexican restaurant. I have had better food from the local Tex-Mex restaurant. I would not recommend this place, save your money .
MEXICAN FOOD LIKE THIS...NOWHERE. this restaurant has been here fore years but I just moved into this neighborhood, a bit pricey but its worth it, happy hour mojitos are the best. I am going back to eat garlic shrimp and sangria next time. I went with all my friends and we loved it, they have a website too, losmariachisrestaurant dot com I recommend.
Best sangria and good food. This is the only mexican restaurant where my husband and family eat. The food is always good and service is great. Do not miss out on the sangria it is the best. For dessert I stay away from the rice pudding; a bit too hard for me. The flan is very good. Where in NY can you get great home tasting mex food at very a affordable price.
Margaritas. THIS IS VERY GOOD FOOD, THE BARTENDER MAKES OUTSTANDING DRINKS. VERY INEXPENSIVE AND ON THE WEEKEND THEY HAVE MEXICAN LIVE BAND, MARIACHIS THATS WHERE THEY GET THE NAME FROM I GUESS.
