Tips for Garden Acupuncture, PC

July 26, 2012

Over a year ago I began acupuncture treatment with Lisa and Alex and since then have had significant improvement in my shoulder pain and overall well being. Through acupuncture treatments, traditional Chinese medicine, and dietary suggestions I have reduced my pain and have more energy that has allowed me to improve my work and school productivity. They also offer a relaxed setting and have a thoughtful, caring treatment approach that enhances the patient experience. I highly recommend Garden Acupuncture to anyone that is feeling pain physical and/or emotional. They can really help.

I first started going to Garden Acupuncture about 7 months ago for what I thought was a foot problem. Alex & Lisa promptly and accurately diagnosed that it was really a back problem and started "attacking" it immediately with acupuncture, herbs and cupping. They also referred me to an amazing spine specialist to get a more accurate diagnosis with an MRI because of their belief that some problems can benefit from the mix of both acupuncture and Western medecine.

Turns out that I have 2 herniated discs as Alex thought in our first meeting. Alex & Lisa have worked with my spine doctor to get a better understanding of my issues so they could treat me better. Needless to say, I feel a lot better now. Both emotionally and physically - they've been a fantastic support network for my chronic pain. They're knowledgeable and explain anatomy and the reasoning behind what they're doing very clearly. And they're just awesome people to be around, very helpful when suffering from chronic pain!

I have dealt with autoimmune and thyroid conditions since I was 19 and seen more doctors in 9 years than I care to count with no results. Since coming for Garden Acupuncture, Alex & Lisa have made a major difference in the way I feel and think. Recently they have been treating me for a case of alopecia caused my my autoimmune system and I couldn't be happier. In addition they have regulated my anxiety in a way medicine never could before.

Alex offers excellent advice on herbs that a doctor never does when administering medicine. Lisa's calming nature, genuine concern and attention to your current condition are always impeccable.

This was my first acupuncture and herb experience, but I can say it was a great one.

Acupuncture treatment given with care and knowledge!. I highly recommend Garden Acupuncture in Park Slope. I came to Garden Acupuncture for 2 reasons. One was location, I wanted to be in Brooklyn. Second I was looking for an acupuncturist that had training in Master Tung's Acupuncture Methods.

Lisa and Alex are a wonderful team. Both are trained in traditional acupuncture; Lisa also has been trained in Master Tung's methods and Alex has the herbal knowledge to compliment my acupuncture treatment. They treat the whole person. Master Tung's acupuncture method has helped with my arthritis pain. On a scale of 1 to 10 for pain, I came in with a 10 and now with approximately 3 months of treatment I have a range of 5-7. Lisa suggested that I change some of my eating habits to help with the arthritis pain, no dairy and no alcohol. I made those changes and found that it helped. I have added treatment for weight loss to my weekly regiment to also help with the arthritis pain in my hips.

I love that they ask a lot of questions concerning how I'm feeling and really listen to my feedback so I get the most out of my session. Lisa and Alex compliment one another with their caring approach to my good health needs.

Begin your acupuncture treatment here!. Acupuncture made easy with Lisa and Alex. I was a newbie to acupuncture, believing it to be just sticking needles into people, yet according to acupuncturists Alex Goldberg and Lisa Metzger of Garden Acupuncture, it’s much, much more. Acupuncture is an ancient art of restoring inner harmony by opening the energy channels within the human body. In other words, acupuncture removes the blockages to allow free-flowing of chi with those infamous needles :-)

Only acupuncture explained to me the root causes of the aliments I had. Acupuncture is ancient science both Lisa and Alex know and applied very well. They both offer a masculine and feminine (Yin& Yang) approach to TCM (traditional Chinese Medicine).

Never had acupuncture before? Don’t know where to start? Or who to go to? Well, I highly recommend Garden Acupuncture. Their rates are competitive and their services are fantastic. And don’t worry about the needles hurting. Lisa will be gentle with you, yet; most importantly note, the free flow of energy throughout your body offsets all initial pinching sensation (i.e. the pain). Besides, isn’t a little initial discomfort worth an ocean of relive from ailments? I think so – no I know so.

Oh and for Traditional Chinese Herbal remedies, Alex is your man. Garden Acupuncture is stack with Chinese herbal blends for your every need that compliments their acupuncture treatments. So, if you want to try Acupuncture and you're in the NYC area, check out Alex and Lisa of Garden Acupuncture.

The best place to get treated!. I would highly recommend Garden Acupuncture to anyone who is looking to be treated with acupuncture and herbs. I have had severe seasonal allergies. After just one session with Alex, I felt a lot better. Both Alex and Lisa are very knowledgeable, intelligent and experienced. If you are considering non-traditional therapies, do give them a try.

Finally someone could help. I had a medical issue that no one could seem to get a handle on. I was given all kinds of medications to try and nothing seemed to completely help. I was told that I was just going to have to live with the issue. That was not good enough for me. I was researching local acupuncture clinics and saw Garden Acupuncture and thought I would give it a try. Alex put me on herbal therapy, and I started to notice a positive difference in weeks. Alex was extremely professional and really cared how I was doing. He wanted to help me get well not just mask the problem. I would highly recommend Garden Acupuncture.

Park Slope accupuncture and pain relief. I would highly recommend Garden Acupuncture in Park Slope. I have been treated by both Alex and Lisa, who are both board certified and trained in traditional Chinese medicine, for pain in my knees. Both are extremely professional and knowledgeable about Chinese medicine. I came to them as a newbie to acupuncture and they immediately put me at ease and I felt very comfortable dealing with people who support the local community. Since starting treatment with them the pain in my knees has lessened greatly and I contribute it to the excellent treatment I have received.

Healing with a Gentle Touch. I have been frequenting acupuncture practitioners on and off for the past 10 years. A frequent traveler, I have visited acupuncturists all over the world, and I have never received a treatment as effective and painless as the ones administered by Alex Goldberg of Garden Acupuncture in Brooklyn. His needling technique is such that I often didn't even realize he had inserted a needle before he was already on to the next one!

Whether you are a long-time proponent of Eastern Medicine or just learning about what it has to offer, Garden Acupuncture is a wonderful place to learn and heal.
