If you could sum up the spirit of Bushwick in a single establishment, this ragtag cafe just might be it. Outside, a leafy garden growing everything from peaches to lettuce is littered with an eclectic mix of furniture, where events ranging from music performances to nighttime barbecues take place. Inside, amidst the light of a huge open window overlooking the garden, a colorful cast of Brooklyn bohemians congregate over Porto Rico coffee (there is no Wi-Fi to distract from conversation) and organic treats like bagels, juices and more.
The Details on Flushing Farms
Fun Fact:
Wondering why the cafe is located on a narrow, V-shaped island between two major streets? That's because it used to house a gas station.
Know Before You Go:
True to the place's bohemian spirit, the open hours are kind of whenever they feel like it. We'd tell you to call to check if it's open, but it doesn't have a phone number.
The Extras:
Vegetarians needn't feel excluded during Flushing Farms' warm weather cookouts; veggie burgers are on offer along with hamburgers and steaks.
