I've done a bunch of recording at heavy, expensive studios--Quad, Sear Sound--but you won't get anything near the quality and attention to detail that you'll get at Grand Street.

We've been working with Ken steady over the past couple months and it's the best recording experience I've ever had, no joke. They've got great gear and an excellent space, but that's kind of a given. What sets GSR apart is killer sounds, expertise, and a musician's ear for what is going to make each track pop.

Can't go wrong here, I'm telling you--

• Pros: Dope sounds, dope space, dope gear
• Cons: None that I know of

The Place to Record... Look No Further!

I've done a fair amount of recording at Grand Street this past year, tracking trombone for a bunch of different musical projects, and I have to say that it is one of my favorite places to record. Ken has fantastic ears and ideas and he works SO FAST. I probably end up recording what would take 90 min or even two hours in about an hour while working with Ken and it always sounds great. There is never any waiting for him to set things up or find the right spot to cue you in which lets you just concentrate on making music (and that also makes things much cheaper for whoever is paying for the studio time... more bang for your buck... you can't argue with that!). Highly recommended!

Things that go bump in the night

Ken has recorded or mixed many of my projects over the years... but Grand Street has that magic, not to mention that mic collection. In short, Grand Street feels like you're alone at home recording but you never have to check your levels and what comes out don't sound nothing like home. Cheers to Ken.
