Vast warehouse transforms into an eco-hip performance venue.. Bleak Gowanus gets another cavernous performance space, housed, naturally, in a 6,200-square-foot warehouse. Contradicting the postindustrial surroundings, the alternative venue is fully eco-friendly, with sound-dampening walls constructed with recycled rubber tires, wind power and a landscaped courtyard that blooms bright and green. A movable partition separates the sunny front lounge, decorated with rotating art installations, from the back stage, where 200 revelers pack in to dance to DJs or bop to rock while sipping Hitachino Red or the sprightly tequila-Campari-grapefruit Bien Fria.
