The Franny’s folks open a Brooklyn gourmet store.. Located in Brooklyn’s bustling Prospect Heights nabe, this tidy, if pricey, gourmet shop offers a selection of imported olive oils and cured meats, pastas, baguettes from Amy’s Bread and a variety of delicious, house-made deli foods, like octopus salad or pork shoulder with pimenton and garlic--all seasonal, of course. The cheese stands alone at this specialty foods shop; literally, since Bklyn Larder has created a temperature-controlled cheese cave where they store fancy artisanal fromage. The museum-like white and glass accented shop may feel like an upscale grocer, but several spots at the counter are available for seated snacking.
