Greenpoint has its fair share of good bars with above-average beer selections, but if that's not enough then stop by Brouwerij Lane. The rotating selection offers some of the best craft brews available, plus growler fills, plus $6 pints, plus a wood-burning fireplace to keep you toasty while watching hockey on their big screen. Bonus points for having a staff that will recommend something good for you or the person you're trying to impress.

Three cheers for a Greenpoint beer spot with an extensive bottle selection to go, plus in-house quaffs described as mouthwateringly as wine -- "smoky, floral, umami, briny," anyone? Bring your growler and come early, since they close at 10 p.m. every night.

Beer nerd paradise with taps and refillable growlers.. Ed Raven of Raven Import Co. came up with a nifty solution for getting his imported beers into the hands of his customers in the freshest way possible: They’re called growlers, half-gallon glass jugs you can fill at 10 different taps and then take home with you. Knowledgeable employees help customers sample any one of the draft beers (four house taps and six rotating taps) for only $2 per ½ pint. If none of the taps strike your fancy, pick a cardboard sleeve and make a mix-and-match six-pack out of more than 150 different bottled beers.
