German expat serves tasty brews at Brooklyn beer garden.. Owner Dale Hall brought his love of German beer all the way from Cologne, setting up shop on a bustling Fort Greene corner where he serves 18 different brews on tap, as well as a wide variety of bottled beers. Inside, the atmosphere is boisterous but tasteful: Long, communal tables sit over checkered tiles while the loud, echoing chatter of happily imbibing groups drowns out the subtle jazz soundtrack in the background. Umbrella-covered tables line the back garden, where patrons can indulge in snacks like pretzels and cheese plates under the afternoon sun.
