a little shop with a lot of substance!!!.
i walked into this little shop by chance and was pleasantly pleased to say the least. Situated on a cobble and brick lined pathway of small stores, it is an oasis of UNIQUE doggie coats, rainwear, beds, carriers, food bowls and toys...great selection of organic edibles ( no commercial brands sold here),
honest and informative customer service, and what they don't know, they research. I was not pressured to make a purchase, not followed about the store. the owner ( or store manager?) even closed the front door so that my two chihuahuas could roam and explore uninhibited which allowed me the freedom to browse and shop without having to worry about my " kiddies" making a nuisance or a "deposit", ( i had wondered about the chewed toys here and there and now i understood why) my kiddies played and chewed away while i browsed the store. truly pet friendly and plently of sample tidbits for the kiddies to feast on.
on a subsequent trip for supplies, and planning a vacation I asked to see their boarding kennels. their pet tech promptly escorted me to a lower level where i found
clean kennels, lots of doggie beds and blankets, a clean pet-food prep area, and cubbies for each "guest". Mind you , nothing fancy, but my kiddies don"t need fancy, they need TLC. i did end up booking a few days and my kiddies were happy campers!
eh. thats all I can say. Dont think this place really hits the mark for a really good pet place. they never seem like they are doing anything other than someone knitting in the front of the store. Dogs tied to the counter and if you wanna see the kennel they say make an appointment. Werid that you can just see it. What do they have to fix before you stop in. Makes me wonder.
REALL BAD BUSINESS TACTICS. I had walked in to make an appointment. In the amount of time it took to take my information I had heard more about why the other groomers in the area were so terrible and why this place was so stunning. I just irked me that I heard more about a shop down the block on Hicks Street. I made the appointment with this place because the other two were booked, now I can see why. To the owner (if you were the one I talked to) should learn business tact. Dont make your self look great by making others seem terrible. I left not getting my dog groomed and am now waiting for my appointment at the competitor. I should have just done that from the start. You might have had a new client if you just told me more about you and less about why the other place is so terrible. Liset a new Brooklyn Heights reisdent
Not the best groomer. when you compare the dogs in the area being groomed on a regular basis at the doggie parks you really see the difference of shops. This place really drops the ball on skill. they are sorta the generic Costco cutting lemon tree skilled place, where as the other two groomers are 100 time above their skill. I used these guys for my maltese and tried to give them a chance but they just can seem to groom. and you pay the same price. Try lets pets or perfect paws they both blow this place out of the water a 100% and you pay the same price.
