Great, low key spot. Just stumbled upon this place, and totally love it - great pub food, lots of beers on tap (including hard cider!), great pub atmosphere - the only place on DeKalb that I could find just like this.
A gastropub lands in Fort Greene, with terrific beer, stomach-stuffing comfort food and period details by the metric ton..
Fort Greene gets in on the gastropub game with this antique-wallpapered, tin-ceilinged throwback to Prohibition-era intoxication. In the booth-packed back, tables are constructed from the saloon's original flooring and lamps dangle like gumdrops; in the front, antique advertisements adorn the walls and the window banquettes are ideal for canoodling. Behind the 30-foot bar, bartenders pour 16 tap beers (including Twisted Thistle, Harpoon IPA and Belhaven Stout) as well as classic cocktails like Manhattans and delectable curiosities such as the Skip and Go Naked (vodka, gin, beer, sugar, lemon).
Hits: The stellar selection of suds, killer cocktails and great pub grub mean you'll happily linger for hours, as evening bleeds into the bleary-eyed night.
Misses: Without a happy hour, and pint prices that start at $6, spending an evening at Brooklyn Public House can quickly become costly.
