On a grimy stretch of industrial Gowanus, this Eastern European beer bar appears like an oasis. Inside the sizable medieval room, swaying wooden chandeliers, lengthy communal tables and stone arches are contrasted by a thumping sound system and an armada of televisions tuned to the daily game. But the lure is beer, and lots of it: The dozen taps center on European breweries such as Krusovice, Spaten and Weihenstephaner. Lots of beer. Lots and lots and lots. And good eastern European food. Sausage and schnitzel and gulash. Bartenders are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, and argue in Russian. Very entertaining.
