Best Caipirinha in Brooklyn
by sambalover82 at Citysearch
From a serious Brazilophile and caipirinha conoisseur, Taino's bartender really knows how to make that lime-y delicious drink!!
Also, Taino's got a nice vibe, friendly & attentive service, and it's super easy to get to (A,C,F; 2,3; 4,5; M,R all within three or four blocks).
Great afterwork spot or place to chill w/friends.
Plus they're doing a Brazilian party with DJ and live music and dancing for carnaval Jan. and Feb.!!
Best caipirinhas, empanadas, and Brazilian food in Brooklyn.

Taino Soleil has the best caipirinha and empanadas I have ever tried in downtown Brooklyn. Now they will offer once a month 2 kinds of Feijoada, vegetarian and non vegetarian (the Brazilian National dish) and live brazilian music and dance every Saturday. Wow, it will be my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn.
- Pros: ambience, management, service, parking.
- Cons: not big enough.
Best Mojitos & Caipirinhas
by Ariana1789 at Citysearch
This is a real nice dinner spot if you like Latin food, drink and ambience. I work in the area and am a mojito junkie and as far as I am concerned these are the best mojitos and caipirinhas around. The sangria is also tasty and I noticed they put hennessy cognac in it so they're not being cheap! I've been here twice and as far as food goes prices are decent and portions are generous, I got the caribbean fish & chips which is made with cod and is moist inside and outside has a perfect gold-brown batter crisp. The second time I ordered the chicken stew, the sauce was DELICIOUS, just perfectly spiced and not too oily. The thing I like about the mojitos is that they seem to have a perfect balance of sweet, lime and mint - not too much of anything so after they muddle it, it's not too chunky or overbearingly sweet/sour. Same goes for the caipirinha. Also great for a date spot, it's intimate, cozy and has native art on the walls. I will be back.
- Pros: ambience, food, drink and proximity to subways
- Cons: daytime parking (impossible)
