Quiet place to have tea - with stroller space. This is a quiet little place I like to visit for a cup of tea or coffee- -or something lite to eat. There's room for a stroller, free wi-fi and it's pretty quiet. The food is ok - not fabulous -- but I go for the atmosphere.

Diner with a Twist. UPDATE...Perch has gone sour since my initial visits...Service is slow. Servers snooty and rude. My favorite baked eggs with leeks; not so good anymore. They changed the bread to something cheaper killing the flavor. Now Perch is blah.

MY FIRST POST

I think of Perch as an "upscale" diner. Not too upscale but better than the standard Brooklyn diner.

For example at a diner I get an omelet. At Perch it's baked eggs with leeks and salmon. The nachos are good (crispy and warm) with corn salsa on top and a side of black beans and guacamole. Interesting salads too, again better than diner salads. It's a nice place for brunch or lunch. Seems to cater to a lot of moms or nannies.

Never had any service problems.

If you go to a restaurant for food, don't go here.. Tried to go to perch for brunch. The server didn't come over for a minimum of 5 minutes to even take our drink order. Another 10 minutes to take our drink order. After waiting 30 MINUTES for a bowl of oatmeal, we decided to leave. The "manager" charged us for our two drinks we had while waiting there for a good hour and told us with a big smile "sorry, first come first serve!" when the restaurant was near empty.

Awesome place!. This is our favorite restaurant in Brooklyn! We have been here 4+ times and are so glad we happened upon the place this May! The food is amazing and well priced and the service is friendly and efficient! The restaurant has never been crowded in all of our visits. Try the baked fried chicken and the vegetable curry...they are awesome...oh and don't forget the nachos...they are to die for! You won't be sorry!

yummy food. The service is a bit slow but the food is yummy. The first time we ate there we waited forever but after our meal we felt it was worth the wait. Now I only go when I know I have lots of time to relax and hang out waiting for my food. The food had a good homemade and healthy feel. And you can't beat all the plugs available for laptops and free internet.

Terrible Service and Mediocre Food, but good latte.. After being promptly seated, the waitress took 15 minutes before coming over to take our order. This was after flagging her down about 4 times. It wasn't even busy, I know I work as a waitress too! Wow , can I say terrible. The food was not any better than the service. We order the Raisin Challah French Toast...were was the raisin? Where was the flavor? It was disgusting. It was not worth the calories, not worth the money.

I would have to say the only thing worth going there for is the latte. If it wasn't for the latte, my experience would have been completely awful.
