Wanna Be Diva. I'll be the first to say that I am no Diva. If I were than I wouldn't clean the families dinner dishes and I most definitely would not clean my toilets. Well, since I do both rather frequently, I'm lucky if my manicures last more than two days. It's something about soapy water and cleaning agents that just makes my nails, chip, chip, and chip some more.

A few months ago I decided to try out the Dashing Diva in Park Slope since I was in the neighborhood visiting friends and I had a little time to kill. The place is super cute with it's white and pink decor. It makes you feel like you should walk in with a fluffy miniature poodle under your arm. I decided to go for a spoiled diva pedicure which was only $10 more than the regular pedicure and a regular manicure. The pedicure were significantly better than average. It lasted about 45 minutes and when I stood up from the chair I felt like I was walking on air. The manicure was fine. It only took about 15 minutes and that was with cuticle cutting.

So, why am I giving this place a five? Here's why- My polish stayed on my toes for several weeks and on my nails for exactly 10 days. I kid you not. I have never had polish stay a day over seven days on my fingernails. I am not sure if they use a special top coat or something but the polish was stuck to my nails.

Oh, and one other thing- No need to byob, they offer tea and water to everyone that steps in the door. just a little bonus for the Wanna Be Diva!

Sooo relaxing. I took my friend who's getting married and her sister here to help relieve wedding stress. We all got spoiled diva pedicures, which lasted 45 minutes and included leg and foot scrubs, massages, and amazing aromatherapy. It took my friend 20 minutes, but finally she gave in to the relaxing - which she desperately needed. My toes stayed pretty for 5 days, and then I had to repolish with a more appropriate wedding color, so I don't know how much longer they would have stayed nice. The atmosphere is really soothing - getting a pedicure feels like you're tucked away somewhere because you're off in a pink tiled alcove.

I would go here all the time if I could afford it - basic pedi is $35, ours were $45.
