Citysearch Editorial Review – As Williamsburg's population switches over from three-to-a-room artists to three-bedroom-owning yuppies, pricier restaurants are bound to follow. However, this rustic Italian trattoria reaches out to both camps: Its black-and-white checkerboard floor, brick walls and thick wood tables look more like the decor you'd find in swanky brownstone Brooklyn, but the unpretentious staff and low prices ensure large crowds of bargain-hunting hipsters. Amidst a sea of old-school, red-sauce joints, the rustic Italian menu hold its own. Appetizers score especially high: creamy tufts of burrata; an endive, frisee and smoked pancetta salad dressed with a tangy shallot mustard dressing; and a heaping portion of lightly fried ribbons of calamari and zucchini. Entrees nearly maintain that standard, especially thin-crust pizza topped with zucchini and fragrant truffled robiola cheese, and flaky salmon bolstered by artichokes, prosciutto and olives.
You must go!! – My husband took me to eat here at Fiore and all I have to say is that was very good!!! The food is great, the prices amazing, and the service oustanding. I had the lasagna ($9) and was delicious, I will go back again for the lasagna and everything else. the carpaccio is very good and for 6$ is like no way to believe it. Really good, you will love it. You must go and try yourself, highly recommended!!!
Just like being in Italia!!! – I ate at this new spot last night with my girl and we loved it!!The waiter suggested wine for both of us and seemed very educated to all of our questions. He went over the different types of items on the menu and suggested we do a little Italian tapas style which was a great idea!! We split a endive salad and enjoyed a bruchetta the chef sent out for us complimentary. We then shared the homemade spaghetti and my date enjoyed the grilled Orata which she loved!!! We finished our meal with an after dinner drink and enjoyed everything, the service, the ambience, and just the overall feel of the place....I recommend it to all and welcome Fiore to the hood...
...simple and authentic... – Since the first time i set foot in this restaurant i haven't been able to resist the urge of going back. the reason is a combination of great food, a pleasant atmosphere and unbelievable low prices. It's not easy to find a well done carpaccio, fried calamari, octopus and an array of salads for 6$. The abundant main courses are priced at around 13 dollars. Dishes such as the pork chop with quince and roasted patatoes, braised lamb shank and braised short ribs are great choices for meatlovers like me. If you prefer fish the grilled whole orata with roasted patatoes looked very good and if you feel unconfortable cleaning the fish the friendly italian-irish waiter will be more than happy to assist you. The desserts are also very good. The tiramisu(4$) is by far the best in the neighborhood. The apple tart with vanilla gelato is also very good although the portion seemed a little small compared to everything else---if you had an appetizer and a main course you'll never manage to finish it all. The friendly staff, simple decor and the candlelit tables make this restaurant a great place for a date. Fiore is a pleasant addition to the neighborhood and a great alternative to home cooking for locals like me.
PS..they also make great pasta
Fantastic Italian in Williamsburg – I recently ate at Fiore with my husband - and had one of the best meals I've had in ages. Everything on the menu was so reasonably priced, and the pizza was particularly good - with really thin crispy crusts. I had an awesome grilled fennel and tomato salad ? and the freshly made pasta was heavenly. I would also highly recommend the skirt steak with salsa verde - it was so fantastic! They have a great wine list, and the service was refreshingly good. I can't wait for summer as they have a garden too!
high-end but reasonably priced italian on the south side – just went for dinner at fiore. really delicious. the octopus was amazing, we also had the skirt steak which was a very healthy portion and equally tasty. the tiramisu was WOW.
great decor too. we went with a 6-month old and the staff was extremely hospitable (picking up our little one's stuffed cow at least five times). Although it would seem that we don't need any more italian in the hood, this spot makes a warm and tasty addition that we'll frequent often.
